Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate recently said about Ward-Prowse: “We know there are some players just on the fringes that we wouldn’t hesitate to call in, both in terms of their ability, but also in the case of a player like James Ward-Prowse and his character.
“He’s absolutely the sort of character you want around the squad.”
The three departing players are Manchester City pair John Stones and Fabian Delph along with Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek who have withdrawn through injury.
England will take on Czech Republic at Wembley on Friday 22nd March at 7:45pm, before travelling to Montenegro three days later.
Fans have since taken to social media to give their thoughts on James Ward-Prowse getting called up, some however are unhappy after other players getting snubbed – find out who and what they had to say on the next page.
