‘Announce relegation’ – Leeds fans left worried after losing 4-2 in friendly

Leeds United fans have been left expressing their worries for the upcoming season, after finding out their side lost 4-2 in a friendly to Al-Ittihad this week.

A weakened Leeds team – which included Helder Costa, Ben White, Jack Clarke, Mateusz Klich and Ezgjan Alioski along with some under 23s – took on the side from Saudi Arabia behind closed doors at Thorp Arch.

The other members of the side were recovering from the 4-0 loss to Manchester United in Australia as well as being part of a 2-1 victory against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Romarinho (4′), Abdel Rahman Al-Aboud (19′) and Aleksandar Prijović (30′) scored for the Whites’ opposition before got Klich one back prior to half time.

Alioski got a second for Leeds half way through the second half, though Luis Antonio Jiminez grabbed Al-Ittihad’s fourth goal to win the clash 4-2.

Leeds’ next friendly comes this Saturday, when the first-team travel to Cagliari for an evening kick off and a Leeds XI take on Girona at Tadcaster in the afternoon.
