Anel Ahmedhodzic slams Joe Cole and Rio Ferdinand for claiming he fouled Jarrod Bowen in Sheffield United’s dramatic draw against West Ham.
The 24 year old Sheffield United captain called out the TNT Sports pundits after they claimed that the Hammers should have been awarded a penalty after he wrestled with Jarrod Bowen in the 2-2 Premier League draw on Sunday.
Ahmedhodzic and Bowen had a coming together in the box with Rio and Joe believing that Jarrod Bowen was denied an “absolute” penalty as he was brought down during the final moments of the game.
A cross came into the Blades area right at the end of the game, with Ahmedhodzic’s arms around Bowen with the pair falling down.
“I don’t know how they haven’t looked at that & gone ‘that’s a stonewall penalty’ for me” ๐ @rioferdy5 & Joe Cole believe Jarrod Bowen was denied an “absolute” penalty as he was brought down in box during the final moments of the game…

Rio Ferdinand says to Laura Woods: ‘Penalty. He is not looking at the ball, looking at Bowen, hands on him, we can see his number and ball is coming from the opposite side. He’s not going for the ball.’
Joe Cole said: ‘Absolutely a penalty. Last minute of game have to keep your composure, he realises and the panic kicks in, he puts his arms all over Bowen. Can’t see how they didn’t look at that. That’s a rugby tackle.’
Anel then hit back, tweeting: ‘Clearly biased. You can see at the unedited footage where he pulls me down with him which makes me lose sight of the ball. Obviously itโs been edited to make it look like a pen to West Ham ๐๐ผ’
Ahmedhodzic also uploaded a picture of the incident onto his Instagram story, while playing WWE wrestling commentary with it.

Moyes, clearly incensed by the decisions, was careful in trying not to criticise referee Michael Salisbury after the game, but did feel refereeing decisions had cost his side.
“I am certainly not going to talk about any referees for sure, I don’t want to get myself into trouble,” he said, per BBC Sport.
“You should ask the referee and see what they think, we have got to the stage where we are settling for a level of officiating where we are all shrugging our shoulders and saying ‘OK’.
“We are shrugging our shoulders again and seeing what they do. We don’t know what they are going to do.
“We’re disappointed, we feel as if things have gone against us. We’ll only blame ourselves but ultimately we could look at other people as well.”
Oli McBurnie scored an very late injury-time penalty to earn the Blades a point against West Ham; James Ward-Prowse’s spot-kick looked to have won it after Ben Brereton Diaz cancelled out Maxwel Cornet’s opener; Rhian Brewster and Vladimir Coufal also got sent off.

Subs: Johnson (6), Mubama (N/A), Fabianski (N/A)
Player of the match: James McAtee (Sheff Utd)
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder: “I’m delighted we stayed in the game because when they were rolling the ball around it could have quite easily have gone from 2-1 to 3-1. But we put some fabulous blocks in there which gave us the opportunity at the end.
“The penalty on Danny Ings, clumsy challenge. Nothing really in it. Brewster’s tackle – I’ll see it one way others will see it the other. When we played Brentford we had one 10 times worse on Souza.
“Their goalkeeper comes and makes a rash decision and we get the penalty. I’m delighted we got something from the game. From a stats point of view we were good. We controlled the game first half. Second half we missed a good chance to go up in the game. We didn’t find that bit of magic.
“Overall we’ve had a decent afternoon. We’ve not got the three points we wanted but a point against a team sixth in the division.”
On Brereton Diaz: “He’s disappointed he’s not got a second. It’s a fabulous run and he’s in. He was down to play 55-60 minutes. I think it was just over that when he had that opportunity. He was just flagging a little bit. Hopefully we can get him up to speed and chances like that I’m sure he’ll stick away. But he can be delighted, I thought his performance was excellent. He’s got all the characteristics to be a Sheffield United player.”
West Ham boss David Moyes: “Disappointed we didn’t win the game in the end. We dropped two points today. It would have been a big two points for us. We played against an improved Sheffield United, who have run a lot of teams close recently. Obviously they saw this as a really important game for them as well because of their position.
“I’m certainly not going to talk about any of the referees, that’s for sure. I’ll only get myself in trouble.
“We’ve got to a stage now where we’re settling for a level of officiating which we’re shrugging our shoulders and saying, ‘yeah OK’.”
On whether Areola was fouled for the Sheff Utd penalty: “Absolutely, he was completely fouled, yes.”
On the late penalty shout from Bowen not being given: “I’m shrugging my shoulders again. We don’t know what they’re going to do.”
On West Ham’s performance: “My team’s performance was so poor today. Maybe my worst… It was a wee bit of a throwback, the game, long throws into the box, loads of free kicks. We had to deal with it. But we never passed it well, especially in the first half.
“As the game went on we got a bit better. We had a great chance to go 2-0 up and 3-1 up. I’m more disappointed with our own performance than anything else.
“We had to find a way to scrap and get through it. We were missing a few players who might have added a bit of quality to us but we had to juggle the team. It got us in front and we should have seen it out.”
“We didn’t get a third which would have seen the game off when we should have done.”

Looking at it from this angle you can clearly see Bowen pull him down. I donโt get why everyone is going crazy over this. Never a penalty. pic.twitter.com/phQ2jptfnY

What an absolute clown ๐คก๐คก๐คก.
