Andros Townsend calls MK Dons a ‘franchise’ during ITV commentary for the World Cup match between Switzerland and Colombia.

It came about after fellow commentator Seb Hutchinson claimed there are no franchises in English football, to which Andros Townsend made a dig at his former club.

He played for Milton Keynes Dons in a loan spell back in the 2009/10 season, making 9 appearances and scored two goals.

Seb said: We’ve never been mentioned all the past clubs of all the players on the pitch at the moment.

Andros replied: It’s franchise, not club.

Seb: Oh I see. We don’t have franchises in football.

Andros: Oooh, there might be one, Milton Keynes.

Seb: I’m going to stay out of that one.

Andros: The complaints are coming again. Sorry.
