Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz have confirmed they have ‘split up’ following a row they had over about her raunchy new calendar.
The duo, who both play for Aston Villa, have seemingly called time on their relationship after nearly a year of dating each other.
They had been in a relationship since the start of the year, to the shock of the fanbase, which they announced via social media at the time, posting the same picture of them kissing with the caption: ‘I love you’.
Yet, it was short-lived as they have now gone their separate way, after Lehmann – who plays in the Womens Super League – recently did a calendar (£29.99, £49.99 signed) shoot which is said to have caused issues between them.
Luiz is said to have been left unhappy by his partner’s decision to take part in the photoshoot.
There are claims that they both has tense arguments over Lehmann’s decision with the row so intense that Lehmann moved out of Luiz’s place and has been staying with a friend – even if he had previously posted a story promoting the calendar one time via Instagram.
A source said: ‘Douglas was completely smitten with Alisha. When she first arrived, he was like, ‘Who is this girl?’. He quickly asked her out and they became a footballing power couple.
‘They were so loved up, But, sadly, as Alisha became more in demand off the pitch, the cracks started to appear in their relationship. When asked to do a calendar, she jumped at the chance to show off her sexy side but he was not happy.
‘He didn’t think it was something she should be doing. They rowed a lot and in the end Alisha simply had enough.’
Lehmann posted photos from her forthcoming calendar last week on social media, posing for photos on a sofa, wearing a sleek, all black bodysuit.
Many will recall the time Luiz attacked a Brazilian TV host just last month after he posted a video that seemed to objectify Lehmann.
Luiz was furious when Milton Neves (a 71 year old presenter) tweeted a clip of Lehmann jumping on her back and celebrating a goal.
The video was shared via social media and appears to zoom in on her back during a goal celebration. It ends with the question: “Without rewinding, what number was on her shirt?”
Neves uploaded the video with the caption “watch and comment”, prompting an angry response from Luiz. The tweet has been deleted by Neves.
Luiz posted a tweet titled “You’re old, years into soccer, and you post video that doesn’t respect women’s football or the player, who is also mine,”
Lehmann had a previous relationship with Ramona Bachmann, a Chelsea women’s soccer player who plays for the Switzerland team.
The BBC Three documentary that featured them together in 2019 spoke about their rivalry in the same league.
Speaking ahead of West Ham playing Chelsea, Lehmann said: ‘She is really, really good, technical and fast. I am a little bit nervous but I think it will be a good game. If she scores I will feel really bad!’
