Alfie May sees red for a hair pull on Kasey Palmer, and Ryan Ledson scores from inside his own half to give Huddersfield a win over Luton.
Despite playing with 10 men for over an hour, the Terriers pulled off a result to boost their League One playoffs hopes.
Luton failed to capitalise, conceding a stunning goal-of-the-season contender shortly after half time, a first-time strike from just before the halfway line caught the keeper off his line.
New Huddersfield boss Liam Manning has also earned 6 points and two clean sheets in under a week of being appointed.
Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere’s Luton side are on back-to-back 1-0 away defeats and are now playing catch-up in the race to try and get in the top-six.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Liam Manning commented:
“What a performance! Despite facing a lot of adversity and challenge, Bojan’s injury and then the red card, how we responded to that, and the shift the lads put in epitomises what I’ve been speaking a lot about recently in terms of leaving everything out there.
“The work ethic, intensity, desire to defend, maintaining a threat on the counter-attack, I thought the lads were outstanding. They should be hugely proud of themselves tonight.
“I though 11v11 we looked a little tired at times, so in terms of the sending off, I think it sharpened a few up, and we had to focus extra, work even harder, and take ourselves to a place where it hurts. Having the experience that we had at the weekend helps, knowing that you can do it.”
Luton’s Jack Wilshere said: “It was not good enough and it’s hard to take. We have to win the game and we’ve not even taken a point.
“I thought we were the team that were really trying in the first half, and we spoke at half-time about what we needed to do, and to make sure we do the basics really well, but try and create more threat, and we simply didn’t do it.
“I don’t think the problem is a leadership problem. We don’t trust ourselves enough to risk the ball in the final third, which you have to do.
“We didn’t create enough clear-cut opportunities. We were up against a block and, look, there are better teams that have struggled against that this season – but they’re one (player) less so we have to do better.
“When we did create moments, there weren’t enough bodies in the box – and we have to create more moments.
“So it’s frustrating, but it’s on me. My job is to make the players better and make sure they know how to create those clear-cut opportunities.”

Here’s how fans reacted as Alfie May sees red for hair pull on Kasey Palmer and Ryan Ledson scores from inside his own half…
@Adyslough: We’ve had an extra man for over an hour and managed 1 shot on target. Utterly pathetic every week. Now we get to hear Wilshere say “we had moments” and gaslight the fuck out of us again.
@evanboobchard: This team finds a new way to embarrass its fanbase every week its truly astonishing. Today was absolutely unacceptable and thats our season done. From the very top of the club to the very bottom you should all absolutely hang your heads in shame. I want to throw up.
@gompstomp78:
Pathetic
Woeful
Gutless
Predictable
Clueless
Take your pick!
@MegaDarkFlames: Seriously lost my interest in this team again. That’s two seasons in a row.. Wilshere isnt the issue as having three managers in such a short amount of time should be telling
@LTFCblockF: Season is over. We need answers from all at the top.
@chrisdalton1977: Absolutely disgusted with that. JW is clueless, the players are terrible – to have 1 shot on target when you have a man advantage for an hour is a disgrace!
@KingMakosso: You have until Monday night to sort this squad out otherwise we’re League 1 fodder for the next few years
@gkenn84: A fucking disgrace from front to back. I’ve never disliked a Luton team more and I lived through Lennie Lawrence. The football side has been ran in to the ground.
@cb_lt07: Either give him some money to spend on players who can play actual football or get a horrible cunt of a manager in. No point getting a manager who wants to play decent football and restricting him to the dross we have
@PenchesterUTD23: 1 shot on target against 10 men in over 60 mins? Abysmal performance.
@Hitesh_78_: Absolutely pathetic. A spineless clueless performance from a so-called professional football club led by a CEO who is unaccountable and untouchable. We also have a recruitment team who are employed all year round who have only secured 1 signing this entire transfer window.
@Spencer_69: This is the most gutless team I have witnessed in over 50 years of following this club
@sowerbyterrier: 10 men against 12 and you still lost 😂
@amsterdambob: Important lesson learned, lads. Cheats never prosper. Thanks for the points. Now go buy some hairnets.
@tweetertucker: This is my official stance on the club now. I want full transparency, top to bottom. I want genuine statements and explanations for this decline, if I don’t hear it I want heads to roll. Too many people getting away with stealing a living, take accountability 😡
@ben_gainsley: We had some moments, we suffered, we have to understand the mentality away from home. Can’t wait to hear the same old boring dross again. Second game in a row where the opposition wanted it more. Why no CF in the starting 11? Why no RB signed? 27 days into the window. Pathetic.
@LtfcJamie95: Absolutely disgusting, tactical set up, individual performances, substitutes, nothing positive at all to take from that. Probably the worst game in the last 2 years of absolute shit
@SSE_LTFC: Pathetic. Hi Gary Sweet
