Aldershot condemn culprits for trouble after Boston game as video emerges online

Aldershot Town condemn culprits for their part in the trouble after the Boston United game as a video of what happened emerges online.

non_league_terrace uploaded the clip onto Instagram, which has caught the club’s attention and now the police are involved.

Rik Mercado comments: It was pathetic. Me and my lad were near it. A group of 30 or so, what looked like 14 year olds, trying to act tough, as they were a large group, but I expect the cowards would wet their nappies, if confronted on their own. They ran over to two Boston coaches parked up, then ran back straight away. It was hardly ‘Football Factory’ stuff. More like CBeebies.

Aldershot said in a statement: “The Club is aware of a video circulating on social media in which a group of youngsters with ATFC merchandise are involved in an incident after Saturday’s game.

“We are working with Hampshire Police and anyone with any relevant information should get in touch with the club to safetyofficer@theshots.co.uk

“We strongly oppose the actions of these individuals and appreciate they do not represent the vast majority of our supporters.”

Social media users gave their thoughts as Aldershot condemn culprits for trouble after the Boston game while a video emerges online…

@lewiswray: I get not supporting hooliganism blah blah blah, but does any other club gun for its own ‘fans’ so publicly?

@richardpotty: I somewhat get your point 👍 trouble is, we are in the spotlight at the moment sadly as a few of these incidents are following us round and there have been enough isolated incidents. Let’s hope it’s a few of those TikTok plebs who hopefully never to be seen again.

Fiona Pennant: Give them all banning orders for all home & aways games I say. Think they can also state not to be in the town on match days as well. Unfortunately there are plenty of them about

Lee Russell: Probably the same idiots that were causing trouble after the yeovil game last season. Told a couple of them they were a disgrace to thier parents and the club after I caught them starting on a dad and his young son walking back through the park up redan hill. Absolute twats!

Andy Mazan: Think I saw the tail end of it. Bottom of Redan Hill. Kids anywhere between 14-16, no place for that sort of behaviour , hope they are found out , and banned for a while.

Ant Wa: the youth all ran away after the Boston fans exited! Attacking a bus and driver is cowardly(if they did)

Allan Redbed Kennedy: coach and driver got attacked

suewalker1948: Could we ship them to Ukraine if they like fighting?

luketomo125: Christ the non league scenes embarrassing at times 😂

jamesnsweeney: Filming yourselves going for a coach then running off 😂🤦🏻‍♂️🤡

rhysjbe: As an Aldershot fan. That is nothing short of embarrassing. Congratulations you’ve attacked a family coach. Utter bellends

jack_gear2007: The disgrace of our football club 🙄 saw these idiots leaving the ground early… missing a near comeback just for a fight is pathetic

bevbev234: Well done on making aldershot look like twats 👏👏👏👏

nathanmccarthy_18: Let’s all film our mates punching someone from behind 😂

ryan_scolly92: None of these aldershot lot will travel to Boston though 😂😅

stanmj.3: What the fuck have I just watched. This is seriously embarrassing on our fanbase. I’m sure I know of the lads in this video and they’ve only been following the club since last season. They need getting rid of by the club bc it’s making all us loyal supporters seem like we’re associated with them.

edfxtz1871: Embarrassing, chasing a couple of lads who clearly don’t want it and going at a family coach. Tragic stuff

The game itself saw Boston come away with a 3-2 victory over 10-man Aldershot. Lenell John-Lewis scored twice (10th and 53rd minute), with Aldershot’s Theo Widdrington show a red card in the 27th.

Hady Ghandour got Aldershot one back on 55 minutes, before Greg Sloggett added a deflected long-range goal in the 77th to restore make it 3-1 Boston.

Tristan Abrahams got another back for the Shots in the 89th minute, but couldn’t find that equaliser.
