8th tier club City of Liverpool FC slams an ‘abysmal challenge and decision from the officials’ as a clip of the incident emerges.

254 fans were present to watch Newcastle Town fall to a 6-1 defeat to the Merseyside outfit on Saturday afternoon, but a controversial moment as got a lot of people talking.

City of Liverpool’s Jack Hazlehurst was the star of the show, getting the only goal of the first half before doubling his side’s lead on 59 minutes.

Kevin Ellison made it 3-0, after getting on a Newcastle goalkeeper’s miskick. Hazlehurst then set up Max Allen for the fourth.

Tommy van der Laan got one back for Newcastle Town on the 82nd minute, but City made sure they weren’t going to be any late scares, as substitutes Tom Croughan and Karl Clair both beat Roberts on separate long balls to complete a dominating win.

But as can be seen above, a bad challenge caused quite the stir, with the offending player given just a yellow…

City of Liverpool FC tweeted with the clip: “You be the ref! What an abysmal challenge and decision from the officials. There was actually a Newcastle supporter who argued that our player should be embarrassed and it shouldn’t be a red cos Jack didn’t have to go to hospital hahahaha. Player played on after brief treatment.”
