7th tier player wanted by six EFL clubs after scoring 50 goals in 55 games

7th tier player Muhammadu Faal is reportedly wanted by six EFL clubs after his stunning goalscoring form in recent seasons.

The 24 year old Enfield Town striker has turned heads for clubs in the Championship and League One, smashing 14 goals in 18 games and that’s just in the league.

He’s currently playing in the Isthmian League Premier Division since rejoining from Bolton Wanderers in the summer.

But now Barnsley, Millwall, Middlesbrough, Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday, and Sunderland have scouted him, delighted at what he has to offer.

Faal has spent the majority of his career at non league level however secured a move to the EFL with Bolton in January 2020 after scoring 24 goals in 25 appearances for Enfield in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign.

Things didn’t exactly go to plan at the Trotters, so returned to the north London outfit, and was instantly back to his best with yet another stunning start to the season.

With a host of clubs eyeing him up in January, he may look set to earn him another chance in the Football League.

His goals have helped Enfield to climb to third in the Isthmian League Premier Division – the seventh tier of the English football pyramid – with games in hand over the teams above them.

Faal started his career in the youth team at Chingford-based Ryan FC before completing a scholarship at Boreham Wood from 2013 to 2015.

He then joined Italian side L’Aquila in the 2015–16 season, playing seven times in Serie D the following season, and also played in the Promozione on loan at San Gregorio before returning to England and joining Waltham Forest at the start of the 2017–18 season.

After only one game, he signed for Dulwich Hamlet, where he played 25 times in all competitions and scored six times. Faal joined Kingstonian on loan in March 2018 where he scored seven times in eight games. The loan was made permanent at the end of the campaign.

Faal joined Enfield Town in December 2018 and after only five appearances in the remainder of the 2018–19 season, he went on trial at Dumbarton before returning to Enfield and scoring 24 goals in 25 games in all competitions in the first half of the 2019–20 season before joining Bolton Wanderers on an 18-month contract on 6 January 2020, as mentioned earlier in the article.

He made his debut on the 11th of January in a 0–2 defeat against Rochdale, coming on as a substitute for Sonny Graham in the 66th minute.

After spending the first few months of the 2020–21 season injured, Faal joined Barnet on a season-long loan on the 6th of November 2020, with an option to make the deal permanent in January.

On the 19th of May 2021, the Trotters announced that he would be released at the end of his contract, so rejoined Enfield in August 2021 and his first game came on the 14th of August where he scored twice in a 4–2 win against Carshalton Athletic.
