20 year old Peterborough keeper stuns with incredible double save while lying on his back

20 year old Peterborough United keeper Lucas Bergstrom stuns fans with an incredible yet unusual double save while lying on his back.

Ephron Mason-Clark scored his first EFL goal as the Posh came from behind to claim a 3-1 success against Accrington Stanley.

It was John Coleman’s side who took a 25th-minute lead when defender Harvey Rodgers ended a five-and-a-half year wait for a second career goal – a header meeting the a rebound after Sean McConville curled a shot against the bar.

But Stanley went on to pick up a fourth consecutive defeat as Mason-Clark helped produce the Peterborough comeback – getting an equaliser eight minutes later with a 20-yard strike.

Mason-Clark turned provider as the hosts went ahead six minutes into the second half, getting past Doug Tharme and cut the ball back for Kwame Poku to tap in his second goal in as many games.

A stunning save from keeper Lucas Bergstrom got plenty of people talking, tip a Ryan Astley header onto the bar, to keep the lead. The reaction from fans behind the goal said it all…

But the points were sealed in the 59th minute when League One leading scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris met a long Nathan Thompson ball and slotted his 12th goal of the campaign.

Dropped points for Charlton Athletic, Barnsley and Exeter City allowed Peterborough to open up a six-point gap to seventh place.

McCann said: “We controlled large parts of the second half. The first half was a little bit nip and tuck. We started brightly and had a really good chance with Kwame and maybe if he reverses it we go 1-0 and it settles us down a little bit.

“We made a couple of mistakes for their goal, but I’m pleased with the response. We’ve shown resilience over the last few games. We did it against Wycombe to come back in the EFL Trophy, at Oxford to stand firm and we’ve shown another side of us again tonight.

“In the second half, we showed some really good play. The goal from Ephron was special to bring us level before the break and then we got it spot on in the second half. We caused them problems in pockets with Harrison Burrows and Jack Taylor.”

The final goal scored by Clarke-Harris irrirated the Accrington management team, who believed the Peterborough captain pushed his marker out of the way.

Coleman said: “We played well overall, but we didn’t defend well in silly moments and that has cost us the game.

“We more than matched Peterborough, had as many chances as them, but we conceded goals when we shouldn’t have done.

“But I’m more dejected about the inconsistency in the decisions we’re having to put up with every week – and there’s nothing you can do about it.

“You can’t complain to anyone. If you come out and speak your mind and say you have been wronged, you just get fined and banned.

“Officials have a very difficult job, but you just get the feeling everything that can go against you does.

“It’s getting to the point where I’m starting to hate football because it’s so unfair – that’s not just me as a manager, but also when I watch it as a fan.

“It’s not the game I was brought up to love.”

@CHAMM24: Had to work hard for them three points against a very plucky Accrington side. Huge double save from Bergstrom moments before JCH’s clincher. Still a lot to improve on but some good moments to enjoy. 20 goals scored at home already. @BBCCambsSport
