£10m Championship ace wanted by Wolves, Newcastle, Everton and Brighton

Four Premier League clubs are said to be chasing the signature of Preston North End central defender Ben Davies, according to reports.

Brighton are the team that are leading the race for the £10m rated player, but face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Everton.

The Seagulls have been sending in their scouts to watch the 24 year old and are set to put a bid in for him in the January summer transfer window.

But if they want him, they will have to pay a seven-figure fee, another set back could be that Preston could tie him up on a new deal.

Ben Davies is a Preston academy graduate who broke into the first team two years ago after having loan spells at York, Tranmere, Southport, Newport and Fleetwood.

He has every minute of North End’s league campaign so far, helping them climb to third place in the Championship table.
