‘Ref’s not even looking’ – Wigan’s Ryan Lowe has been left aggrieved with both of Lincoln’s goals in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.
On the 10th minute, Paul Mullin controlled a long ball, rounded keeper George Wickens, and put Wigan ahead, before James Collins converted a penalty after Christian Saydee’s foul on Ryley Towler on the half hour mark.
Collins poked in a flicked corner from Towler minutes later, then Callum Wright headed in Saydee’s cross from close range on 50 minutes.
Saydee was sent off for a reckless challenge on Tom Bayliss on 70 minutes while Lincoln’s Rob Street was dismissed for second yellow (high boot) on 77 minutes,
There was a late chance with Dara Costelloe seeing his shot strike the crossbar.

Ryan Lowe said: “I thought we made a fantastic start, it’s a quality goal, Sam gets it moving and Mulls shows his quality.
“And then the penalty swings it back to them, because up to then we’re well on top.
“We’ve just looked at the penalty back, and the ref’s not even looking, so he’s not seen it, we don’t know who’s given it.
“I’ve just asked an assessor and they said they would go in and ask him… so I don’t know where that’s come from.
“Yes, there is holding, but he has warned us before about that, and we swapped the markers over.
“The ball wasn’t even going to the lad, and the lad threw himself down… I don’t know, is that a penalty, is that not a penalty? I don’t know, but it’s been given and we had to deal with it
“For the second goal, I’m disappointed for two reasons.
“One, because a man ran off the back of our player, so I’m disappointed about that. But from then, it’s a push on Christian Saydee, for him to head it down,.
“Chris is going to win the ball, it’s only a small push, but he’s got two hands on his back.
“After that, the lads were a little bit ‘what do we do now?’, but we got to grips with it, and we scored a great goal to get back into it.
“It got a bit messy at the end with the red cards, but both teams tried to go for it at the end.
“I thought we were by far the better team when it came to playing football, and I’m overall disappointed we’re not going home with three points.”
Skubala believed his side looked the most likely to win after the red cards, but conceded the draw was a fair result.
He said: “Wigan were a good, physical team and were the better side in the opening exchanges.
“If I’m honest, I think we were fortunate to go in ahead at the break but then we let them back into it again in the second half.
“When it went to 10 men, we became the better team and had some really good chances to win it.
“When the dust settles on Monday, I think we’ll reflect on a good point against a really good side.”
Just to emphasise the point, whatever happens in the last half hour here, I don’t think (as many have claimed) he’s biased against Latics. I just think his decision making is baffling. #wafc

“You’re not fit to referee,” sing the away end.
And I don’t think anyone can be in any disagreement with that.
Alan Young. Again.#wafc

Based on his overall performance I don’t think it’s an unfair observation. I can see why he’s given the red.

Literally 30 seconds after posting this, he’s sent Christian Saydee off. After a long conversation with the fourth official. Latics players and bench absolutely incensed. Saydee walks off shaking his head. #wafchttps://t.co/OR106hXk4U

He’s a shocking ref based on the previous 65 minutes and Stevenage away last season when he booked 12 including Shaun Maloney and sent off another…

Referee now appears to give another Lincoln player a second yellow only to not end up doing so. Home fans now chanting ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’. For balance, they’re right as well. #wafc

First batch of Ryan Lowe quotes…felt Latics were on the wrong of bad calls for BOTH goals… #wafc

Here’s how fans reacted on Wigan’s Ryan Lowe left aggrieved with both of Lincoln’s goals in the 2-2 draw…
@ryanpr77: Unlucky not to win that, good performance ref ruined a good match
@BenHall873466: Ref ruined it but proper graft from everyone UTFT
@KAI_B0SH: You know what, given the absolute disaster of a referee, I think both teams will take that, although Lincoln will certainly be the happier of the two sides. Another point on the board, but still hunting for that first away win. Feel like this team will only get better #wafc
@piemunchingtic: absolute cinema that.. the ref made it really entertaining 🤣 should have won though. #wafc
@impsteaderz: Decent assessment and I am pleased he apologised to Bayliss, clearly not intentional from Saydee but a nasty challenge. Enjoyed the game and thought we did well to get a point, Wigan decent team, their long balls gave us real problems, Mullin still a handful 👏👏
@WAFCtabs: Young should never be allowed to referee another professional game again, let alone a Wigan game again. Not seen bias that bad since Phil dowd v Arsenal #wafc
@charliekeegan: Never in my life do I want to see Alan Young referee a Latics game again. These performances surely can’t be a one-off. The red cards were the right decisions, but all of his decisions up to that point just raised frustration levels and bad tackles always going to happen. #wafc
@LetLatics: Every season the same refereeing standard is up held. That standard being ‘shite’. Fans of all clubs deserve better. #wafc #efl
@Juddu_: Absolutely fantastic game of football that, shame about the officiating but even he could not ruin a great game of football, should have easily won though #wafc
@wafcleo: Really hope Ryan Lowe calls out this standard of officiating in his post-match interview. Tarnished what would have been a brilliant game #wafc
@DonnellyWAFC: I referee Junior Football and get the odd decision wrong but fuck me this referee is a fucking wet wipe #wafc
@laticssamuala: Hope both @LaticsOfficial and @LincolnCity_FC put in some serious complaints about this ref to the EFL who best watch back the footage. Kick him back down to non league #wafc #imps
@Jack432J: Pleased but equally frustrated tone that with the very obvious stuff today. Sort the fine margins stuff out more ruthless upfront and tougher defensively and we’ll be a really good side. Had be careful on avoiding a fine or ban with officials comments. Rightly furious #wafc
Doesn’t even look in Saydees direction, Murray and Aimson thrown to floor, sees balls gone out with their player down so gives a pen 😂😂 surely can’t have him reffing us again #wafc pic.twitter.com/3B6UV50l5y
