Preston and Liverpool announce plans to commemorate Diogo Jota and André Silva in a pre-season friendly taking place on Sunday.
The two brothers died in a car crash in Spain, with The Guardia Civil telling BBC Sport that the crash occurred due to a tyre blowout while Jota was en route to Liverpool for pre-season training.
Tributes include a rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” a wreath-laying by Preston’s captain, a minute’s silence, black armbands, and televised tributes. A free 16-page commemorative matchday programme will also be issued for all to see.
The match will be televised on ITV, LFCTV, and streamed on All Red Video, with pre-match coverage on LFC’s social media and YouTube.

Phil Pearson: I’m sure it will be a very emotional occasion and obviously paying tribute will be at the foremost front for the players minds but I’m glad they’ll be back on the pitch that’s where they need to be I reckon right now . The way the footballing community has come together along with most (not all ) but most of the media has been remarkable in his much empathy and class has been shown . It’s still very raw and it will be for some time I’m afraid but I do think the boys now will want to get out there and play I think once they get going they will be fine and they can do what diogo helped them many times to do win games …YNWA 🔴 FOREVER 20 watch over us diogo and Andre we won’t forget and the club and the city will always support your loved ones that can be rest assured.
Neil Hargreaves: NEVER forgotten, loved ALWAYS. The pain we feel now reflects our love. Grateful to have witnessed your passion for the game
