Jeff Stelling’s jokey ‘self harm’ comments as Hartlepool concede causes a stir with viewers, some amused and others taking offence to it.

It looked to be another matchday for the Sky Sports Soccer Saturday host to forget, losing 2-0, then 3-2, before getting a very late equaliser to make it 3-3 at home to Walsall in League Two.

He sunk lower in his seat when his side conceded the first against the Saddlers. But when he read the scoreline out, he in jest made a joke about slashing his wrist. His comments caused a divide online.

While a number laughed at what he had to say, aware he wasn’t actually being serious, a number of users tagged Jeff Stelling in a tweet complaining at what they heard on Saurday afternoon.
