Derby County fans sing a message for Steve Gibson in their away day defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.
Videos have emerged on TikTok showing a number of chants coming from the away end, directed at Gibson, with Carl Sagan on the dcfcfans.uk forum writing: “Boro are owned by Steve Gibson who did everything in his power to see Derby County go to the wall and no longer exist as a football club.
“He should never be forgiven. I don’t recall any of their fans calling him out. They’re culpable too.
“If karma is a thing, this is where the season turns and Eustace stops the rot. This is where the characters we need stand up to be counted, and we start climbing out of the mire towards Championship safety. This is where Gibson gets a tiny taste of what’s owed to him.”
However, Boro played out a 1-0 victory, to make it three defeats in three for Eustace, with the Rams bottom of the Championship, with 29 points from 35 games played, and 4 points from safety. Middlesbrough are 8th with 50 points from 35 games played and 2 points from the playoff places.

Finn Azaz scored the only goal of the game, 10 minutes from time. Tommy Conway’s shot was blocked but Azaz was on hand to fire home the rebound.
Middlesbrough’s Michael Carrick, per Sky Sports:
“It’s a good feeling when you do it like that. It’s probably the type of game we haven’t capitalised on enough during the season.
“I’m delighted we found a way. I thought we played well in the first half and created some good chances and played some good football. The second half was a bit sticky but we kept going and it was a big goal for us.
“I thought we deserved to win the game but you still have to find a way.
“We knew there was always going to be ups and downs to come. Hopefully there are a lot more ups to come now.
“We’re right in there, we have a fighting chance and we look forward to the run-in.”
Middlesbrough head coach Michael Carrick told BBC Radio Tees:
“It was a tough game.
“I thought we played some good football, especially in the first half, we had some opportunities and they’ve got a lot to hold on to.
“They made it difficult for us and we had to find a way of getting over the line, which we haven’t done enough this season, but it was a good step for us.
“Everyone played their part and it’s just as good winning like that as any other way, to win late in and feel like we’ve earned it, so a good day.”

Derby’s John Eustace, per Sky Sports:
“I’m really disappointed to lose the game. In the second half we weren’t troubled at all and I felt we’d go on and win the game if I’m being honest, especially in the last 10 minutes.
“So to concede in the way we did was really frustrating and disappointing. I sensed after an hour we could get something. I was very pleased with the structure, the way the team were defensively sound.
“They lads are low, of course they are, they’re disappointed, but they still have to take a lot of positives from the game.
“The lads are all disappointed but what they showed from an attitude point of view is really pleasing and there’s still a lot of football to be played.
“I’ve only been here two weeks. We have to have a bit of realism. You can see the spirit and togetherness is there. It’s just the moments where we’ve let ourselves down with the quality and concentration.
“It’s just about keeping the level of concentration for the full 95 minutes. We have two home games coming up and we have to be really positive.”
Derby County head coach John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby:
“I’m very disappointed. I felt, second half, Middlesbrough didn’t cause us any problems, and the manner we conceded the goal wasn’t good enough.
“It’s tough job, it is what it is, but I’m here to help, I’m here to progress the club.
“I thought, first half, we had a couple of real good chances on the break and our final pass wasn’t good enough.
“It’s stuff that we’ve been working on in the last couple of weeks, so that will come, that will keep improving.
“I was really pleased with the group again, the attitude was fantastic and just very disappointed that we lost.”
