Gone viral Man Utd fan speaks out after being ATTACKED by fellow fan in shocking video

A gone viral Man Utd fan speaks out after being ATTACKED by a fellow fan in a shocking video which emerged over the weekend.

Frank Ilett, a Manchester United fan known as The United Strand, has gone famous after vowing not to cut his hair until the team wins five consecutive games.

With over 369,000 followers, he shares daily hair update videos, and seemingly have a large afro after 351 days.

His challenge came with the aim of spreading humour among fans. However, during a match against Chelsea at Old Trafford on September 20th, Ilett was attacked by an apparent fellow supporter who grabbed his hair and pushed him to the ground, as seen in a TikTok video.

The attacker shouted “f*** off, I’ll do what I f***ing want” and “he’s not a United f***ing fan”, but despite the incident, Ilett remains positive, and thanked the support from most fan.

The video was also posted to Twitter with it captioned: “The United fan growing his hair out until United win 5 games in a row was grabbed by another United fan yesterday at the game… What a strange strange man.”

Another post read: “The United fan growing his hair out until United win 5 games in a row was grabbed and shook for no reason wtf.”

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Ilett said: “It was always and always will be to spread humour and positivity to United fans in a difficult time.

“I have of course been a Man United fan my entire life and my intention with this challenge was never to highlight Man United’s flaws.

“It was all a bit weird to be honest. I will always try to focus on the positives and hope that this was just a one off.

“I thought he was just joking to start with, but then he started yanking my hair and calling me an ‘attention seeking c**t’.

“The whole day was full of hundreds of positive interactions yesterday and 99 per cent of all of the reactions to this challenge have been nice. But just a few people can ruin it!

“Like I’ve said before, I never expected it to go on for so long, but I’m hopeful we can go on a good run soon and I, more than most… want these wins to come as soon as possible.”

He said after the game: “What a place. Wet hair, but still a smile on my face! A big win today! What a crazy game it was in the end! 1 down, 4 to go. COME ON UNITED!”

The game itself saw Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro’s goals in a rather unusual first-half prove enough for Man Utd to see past Chelsea.

Casemiro’s second yellow levelled the playing field after early sending off for Robert Sanchez and set up nervy ending after Trevoh Chalobah pulled a goal back.

Ruben Amorim spoke to BBC Match of the Day: “Every win especially in this moment is important, against a great opponent.

“We started the game in the right way. Really aggressive. The red card helped us dominate the game but we were already there.

“We scored two goals and then we tried to complicate our game again. It’s always complicated with us. It should have been different this game.”

On Casemiro: “He’s [feeling] worse than me. We won so I will forget a little bit and he will suffer because he’s a top professional. He understands what he did. He is experienced enough that that play should not be played like that. He cares too much.

“We suffered in the end but we deserved the win.

“Our crowd, our fans are easy to please. If you give everything they will be there. That is something our players need to understand. To have the crowd with us we just need to run, to fight and tackle.

“With this win we have to forget the good feeling of winning the game and get back to the urgency of feeling we need to win the next game.”

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca to Sky Sports: “Very difficult because after three or four minutes with the red card, it completely changed the game. All the plan is in the bin. So it was very complicated.

“[Sanchez’s red card is] a situation that we can avoid because we knew these kind of long balls for Benjamin Sesko, they try to flick for Mbeumo. We knew that. Unfortunately we conceded that moment. When you are one player down, it becomes completely difficult and changed the game.”

Explaining his decision to make three changes after the red card, Maresca added: “They are used to attacking with five players, so in that moment we have to defend with five players. We can defend absolutely with four when we are 11 vs 11, but when we are one player down, the idea was to defend with five.

“We decided to change with Estevao and Pedro Neto and the after we changed Cole because he made an effort to play this game because he was not 100 per cent fit. This morning he had a test and he was OK but not 100 per cent fit. So we decided to change him after 20 minutes.”

Twitter users reacted on the gone viral Man Utd fan who speaks out after being ATTACKED by a fellow fan as seen in a shocking video…

@AdamJoseph____: What a fucking bellend. It’s a bit of fun, it’s harmless & attacking him is completely uncalled for. Hope he has action taken against him for this. It is also a little ironic, because he hasn’t had a haircut in the same amount of time either. Maybe it’s why he’s mad.

@SayersBHAFC: Disgraceful, the lad is trying to inject lighthearted humour into his community and this is what he gets. Hope the hair grabber gets a lifetime ban.

@UTD_MNM: What d*ckhead! I hope he gets done for assault the clown! He was probably jealous that the other guy has hair and he doesn’t!

@mufzone07: He’s just jealous looking at another person with this much hair

@BlackyMUFC7: Seen this lad ages ago, he’s a decent lad and doing this for charity, laying hands on him and shouting I’ll do what I want. This is fucking unacceptable

@toastytoad79:
“Grandad what did you do today?”
“I got pissed off at someone with hair and assaulted him on camera”
Prick

@JamieEason19: Justice for @TheUnitedStrand don’t worry Frank this 🔔 end will get his karma when the club ban him @ManUtd hope you get the authorities involved as well cause this is assault

@COYSpurs2023: It’s absolutely mental how angry this guy is with someone over growing his hair. When you deep it, he’s literally attacked another fan, a fan of the club that they both support, the same bloody club & he’s physically attacking him over growing his hair. The worlds gone bonkers

@owenrelax: watching this absolutely ENRAGED me!😤😡🤬 football should always be a safe space for everyone to present however they feel comfortable to. what gave this bald (🥚❄️) individual the audacity to put his hands on someone else?! sincerely hope @ManUtd take appropriate action👎🏻
