York owner Matt Uggla calls out Yeovil owner Martin Hellier over sending ‘threats’

York City owner Matt Uggla calls out Yeovil Town owner Martin Hellier over sending ‘threats’ and ‘sickening’ names to users online.

A post emerged on Friday night shaming the Glovers owner and chairman, displaying what he had been sent on social media recently.

Matt Uggla tweeted: “This is what we have to deal with. If the FA, National league and even police think this is acceptable then there’s clearly a huge issue.

“Pure threats even to my life and calling people sickening names. Surely this can’t stand.

“Only allowed to add 4 but 100 more where it came from.

I’d just like to apologise if anyone was offended by any of my tweets today, as you can see its constant abuse that I have had to deal with. I can’t wait for the season to start next week and look forward to seeing you all there Thank for all the support I’ve received. #ycfc

As can be seen, Uggla screenshots tweets from Hellier, which read: “You come to this town and tell Martin Hellier to move out @matt_uggla ? I will fuck your life. Ask around. And repent.”

Another was: “Call me Uggla. Say it to me. Now.”

Martin Hellier also writes in other screenshots:

“Talking out your ass mate. Stay jealous x.”

“That’s not the CEO son, I put his ass at the NL gala is it? Anyway, all the best x”

“Wow! How about you go fuck yourself! I think we will see ultimately who’s laughing. Wha a stupid man you are.”

“Ot sure what your agenda is but you look like the kinda guy that hang around outside playgrounds”

“Lets not fuck around. You round this area. Save public words ok. Lets sort it out, ok, no public words, let men know, soon as keen o set you straight ok, do all your mocking in front of me, at that time.”

After this tweet emerged from Matt Uggla, Martin Hellier’s Twitter has since disappeared.

@seabrkei points out: “On the face of it, these are a breach of FA rule E3(1). See https://thefa.com/-/media/cfa/hertfordshirefa/files/clubs/media-comments-and-social-media-guidelines1.ashx?la=en: “Comments which are improper, which bring the game into disrepute, which are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting.”

“Suggest you get expert (in FA regulations) to make complaint to FA.”

Here’s what fans are saying as York owner Matt Uggla calls out Yeovil owner Martin Hellier over sending ‘threats’…

@WeareshitYTFC: How are either of theese fit and proper owners. On the one hand you’ve got Hellier coked up every night and than you’ve got everyones favorite alcoholic Matt Uggla. Both are not fit and proper. Both launching threats and trying to play victim. Pathetic the pair of them. #YTFC

@tobyhullyer: York and yeovil going to be some rivalry in a few years if this carries on #ytfc

@JoeEdws: I’m going to miss the Vanarama drama, just beautiful chaos

@ytfc4life01: never forget the real way he acts.

@Wathey: This guy is unhinged.

@a040404m: 😂😂😂😂😂 this season is gonna be pure box office

@Academy_ds: Hi @YTFC , can you respond officially on this exchange please. Clarity is needed on the comments attributed to the verified @martinhellier account that doesn’t exist currently.
What is the club’s stance on the comments?

@916connor_: understand the league has its arse and hands full with southend at the minute but surely someones gotta look at this?! Literal threats to murder in here ffs! and seems like racial abuse to Callum Harriot in his personal messages too, absolute joke!

@HCfootball01: Please tell me the last message isn’t from the Yeovil guy and it’s a fake account? Because that’s disgusting and so professional. You’re doing a great job Matt, unfortunately with that comes a lot of jealousy.

@tomd0312: He’s such a wrongen hahaha

@tom_swanton: So embarrassed for him 😂😭 hope we get Yeovil in the Cup

@CestrianJames: Fan ownership hasn’t been a totally smooth ride and I don’t always agree with 100% of the board’s decisions – but, from the spat between Scunthorpe’s two chancers to this, we all ought to be thankful that our club’s in the hands of supporters rather than characters like these.

@Utd_Josh_: This is a joke. This stems from pure jealousy from the hope you & your family have given to York that it’s needed for so long. You have a home here. Trolls like this need stamping out. As they wouldn’t dare come anywhere near you to say any of this. @FA time to sort things out

@TorquayFans1: hes genuinely worse than glenn tamplin ever was, up the matt uggla

@jamars111: 1- From a life long Yeovil fan. Me and many others are so embarrassed by our new owner. Rants and arguments daily to fans of Yeovil and other clubs. If we voice our opinion on anything or heaven forbid himself.. we are blocked. Over 100 yeovil fans Twitter accounts are blocked.

@jamars111: 2- Never seen someone who is so insecure. Literally anything mentioned that is about him he’ll fly off the handle about it. Interviews or podcasts he only talks about himself. The size of his ego is mental. He sits in team photos! He wants to be announcing videos or tweets.

@jamars111: 3- He demands praise and to be treated like a god for players coming into the club. He demanded access to the YTFC Twitter account to tweet random unprofessional tweets on the main page at 2 in the morning. Not only for that but by having access to the club accounts

@jamars111: he can see and keep checking on the people he’s blocked and threatened to see if they are still talking about him. Always liked Matt and thank him for saving the club. Always liked York as a football club. Now we have a randomly rivalry 🤦🏼‍♂️
