Wythenshawe Town taunt Bury on social media after beating them in the playoff final while Bury fans fight each other at the game.
We will start with the video of Bury fans which has been doing the rounds online this weekend, with Bury fans clashing among themselves.
It came as Bury lost 3-2 in a woeful penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in normal time, with Wythenshawe Town winning promotion from the North West Counties Premier League Premier Division.
@Chrishazzy75 tweeted when asked what happened: “Not 100% sure. Some fans were arguing about certain players not stepping up to take penalties but I canโt be certain it involved that particular group. A few others then got involved. All unnecessary really.”
Bury FC said in a statement the morning after: “Bury Football Club wishes to condemn some of the supporter behaviour at our Play-Off Final at Ericstan Park on Saturday afternoon.
“We are a community club, and some of the scenes experienced in both the stands and again unfortunately on the pitch, are not acceptable.
“It cannot be stressed enough that any poor behaviour reflects on the club in a negative way and has led to severe punishment already during the season.
“We are handing over the investigation of these matters to Greater Manchester Police and will liaise with the FA on these matters in due course.”

In days leading up to the final, there had been a dispute between the two clubs regarding the distribution of tickets.
The game was held at Wythenshawe Town’s Ericstan Park, as they finished higher in the league (2nd) than Bury (3rd), granting them priority.
However, Bury were disappointed on Wednesday night, stating that their opponents didn’t cooperate in deciding the ticket allocation for the significant game, with Bury claiming that they were told that the number of away tickets available at the stadium, which has a capacity of 1,400, would be reduced to around 200, 500 less than the 700 tickets Bury had requested.
A Bury FC spokesperson said: “After an initial outline suggestion making around 700 tickets available for this weekend’s game, and plans being put in place throughout today (Wednesday) to organise allocations for our supporters, we have been informed this evening that away tickets will be restricted to approx 200.
“We are extremely disappointed that Wythenshawe Town have failed to engage with us in this process, alongside failing to update the police with their decisions.
“We are also deeply disappointed on behalf of all our supporters.
“The club will now consider the options and further comms will follow from tomorrow (Thursday) including details of big screen plans at Gigg Lane.”
In response, Wythenshawe Town chairman Chris Eaton accused Bury of releasing false statements and “trying to bully the club into switching venues”.
In a statement on Thursday, he said: “Wythenshawe Town FC are deeply saddened by incorrect statements being put on social media by Bury and the lack of condemnation of their supporters threatening all sorts of behaviour that isn’t welcome within the football community.
“To confirm, Bury have been advised there will be an initial allocation of 200 tickets.
“To also confirm, we have been in regular contact with the authorities and local council contrary to comments made by Bury, who are trying to bully the club into switching venues.
“As the answer has been ‘no’ this has not incited a needless situation via social media from issuing incorrect statements.
“We look forward to welcoming those with tickets to the game on Saturday and make it a memorable occasion.”
Then Bury responded, telling fans that “supporters who do not have a ticket should not be travelling to the game under any circumstances”.
A club spokesperson added: “We appreciate that a lot of supporters will be left without a ticket, for various reasons across this process.
“However, considering both the capacity and ticketing limitations, alongside accommodating our large fanbase, this was the best solution we could find considering the timescales.”
A live stream of the match was also shown at Gigg Lane, as can be seen below…
