Wrexham’s Bootlegger hits back at critics after ‘concerning’ photo of him goes viral

Wrexham’s Bootlegger hits back at critics after a ‘concerning’ photo of him goes viral this week with many hoping he was alright.

Real name Karl Phillips, has a huge presence on social media from making match-day YouTube vlogs to post about football and drinking.

He has earned himself nearly 360,000 Twitter followers and also has millions of views to his name, but it seems that has helped make the latest photo of him get plenty of talk and not exactly for the best reasons.

He was seen sat against the wall out on the floor by his wife, with his jeans soaking, and while fans laughed, others claimed he needed “genuine help” for being in a “helpless state”.

Bootlegger told the negative people to “duck themselves”, though admits he “overdid it” by drinking too much and should “slow down.”

He tweeted on Wednesday morning: “Thanks for the kind words and messages of concern they are appreciated after me over doing it Sunday those who like to make it into something else and lay the boot in go and duck yourself’s [sic] I’m a good man and will always be a good man have a good days lads roll on Friday.”

When questioned as to how the photo was leaked, Phillips replied: “The flamethrower [wife] took it and deleted it on Facebook but some clever barsteward took it and put here it’s to be expected and got no problem with that I’ll take my time this weekend.

“There [are] more days in a week when I don’t had lint [alcohol] than days when I do but I’ll admit I’ll binge at the weekend when I should go low and slow,” he added.

He replied to a comment which encouraged Bootlegger to keep posting his usual content, to which he wrote: “It won’t at all mate for every man that likes you they’ll another two round the corner that don’t human nature pal”.

Then on Friday night, he said in a video: “Well, alright lads. I’m going to keep this one short and sweet baby. A quick skedaddle up the old coast road has brought me and led me to drop the working man’s chariot off at the villa and brought me to my happy place.

“I’d like you all to join me as I raise my glass and my lips and not my stretched denim jeans get to taste the first taste of pilsner of the week.

“But seriously, I’m not one ducker who likes to dwell on the past. But I’d just like to say that I really do care about the opinion of those that cared about me and confident people and positive people in life.

“And let me just tell you now, the negative people in life, I can understand why they found that photo last week deeply offensive, but there’s not enough time on here to talk about that now.

“But let me just tell you to your face, I don’t give a flying duck about your opinion, baby.

“So, lads, all the positive people out there, keep smiling, keep working hard, keep doing the best you can to have a good time in life.

“And to all the negative people, you keep being you, because I’m going to keep being me, baby. Over and ducking out. Ha.
