‘We Want Our Swindon Back’ post thread regarding ongoing issues and destruction of their club

‘We Want Our Swindon Back’ (@WWOSTFCB) post a thread regarding the ongoing issues and sad to see destruction of their football club.

The Robins have just appointed Ian Holloway, following the departure of Mark Kennedy, and boy does the new man have a mighty job to do to make sure that Swindon keep their Football League status.

They currently sit just above the League Two relegation zone, with Kennedy, who was appointed on a two-year contract on the 29th of May, only picking up two league wins this season and six losses.

It leaves them sitting 22nd in the table, four points above 23rd place Carlisle and five above bottom place Morecambe.

In a thread posted, ‘We Want Our Swindon Back’ explained the current situation the club find themselves in: “Football Ownership has a huge problem but even more so at Swindon Town at the moment. We as fans are calling for Morfuni to sell the club to a suitable buyer. Here is a thread with the ongoing issues not in the public eye ⚪️ #STFC

“Since the arrival of Clem Morfuni in 2021, Swindon Town have had 6 permanent managers/head coaches at the helm. Each one being provided with a “competitive” budget. Each one so far a failure to their objectives. Why? 🤔

“Alongside managers, the club are now on their 3rd DoF/Technical Director. Ben Chorley, leaving after missing out on promotion, Sandro di Michele spending money on data signings and Jamie Russell having no money. Rumour is that Sandro spent Clems money on failed signings and Jody Morris’ big wage. Speculating rumours that staff weren’t paid on time 🤔

“Talking about paying on time, Swindon Town received a £2,000 fine and a one transfer window restriction, in 2023, due to the club accruing 39 days of late payments, including late HMRC payments. Morfuni responded to this by claiming it was a “administrative error”

“It wasn’t just late payments causing fines for the plumber. Back in 2022, Morfuni, received a £10,000 fine for failing to declare the transfer of club shares. This was after the Australian declared he wanted to be ‘transparent’ about the running of the club. Hmm 🤔

“Swindon Town were forced into ending their 9 year partnership with Puma, a year early, due to (you guessed it) failure to make payments on time for kit supply. Forcing the club to change suppliers but to who 👀

“After searching high and low for a new supplier, Swindon Town landed a deal with Adidas…oh wait no Pro Direct Soccer. After suppliers hearing about the late payments, Swindon turned their attention to Pro Direct Soccer!

“However, the Pro Director Clubhouse scheme can be set up by anyone, from 5 a-side to Sunday League. Swindon become the only EFL team with this partnership. To rub salt in the wounds, the 24/25 season kits are old templates from the season before 🥱

“Zav Austin was sentenced to 4 years in prison back in 2005 for laundering £12.5m of drug money. In 2021, Austin was appointed Vice Chairman.

“In the 2021/22 season, the club encouraged supporters to pay for season tickets with cash or via bank transfer. In 2024, they encourage you still to pay for tickets in cash… I wonder why 👀

“Adam Hart, who was once referred to as “Britains most wanted man” for drug related crimes, held a back room position at the club. It is believed he still has a position within the club.

“At least there aren’t anymore bad people within the club… right @TrustSTFC 👀 I’m sorry you had to delete this for your own safety 🙌

“The minor details of our club aren’t being cared for. Months for the club shop to be branded, a freebie to get the Rolex Clock fixed and “who are Gillingham playing this weekend” this branding is a joke to the Community Foundation 🤦🏼‍♂️

“All of this and so much more has got to fans. In 2022, Swindon v Barrow 13,500. Last week, we can’t reach 7k. Fans no longer care, all because of one man and not knowing how to run a football club. #STFC #MorfuniOut

“All we want is a club ran professionally, one that we can be proud of. We have some brilliant staff, a brilliant Community Foundation and a growing platform down to @LifeOfAKitman! At this rate, we will end up down under like our owners past business #STFC

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as ‘We Want Our Swindon Back’ post a thread regarding ongoing issues and destruction of their club…

@Woody2402: Don’t forget the shareholding. Hollie Kiely (ex Coral bookmakers marketing department) has money to buy shares 👀 Married to Chris Kiely, son of Dean = Lee Power’s best mate. Who REALLY knows who owns what? #STFC I’ve not given him money post year 1. Too many lies… boycott.

@misterdickinson: Thanks for the solidarity you showed with Rochdale AFC when we had the bad people™️ sniffing round us. Hope you find a way past this mess soon. ⚽️

@jhowes17: Ian Holloway is attracted to bad owners isn’t he? He appeared complicit in a fraudster trying to get involved at Grimsby and he is the only person in football to speak positively of the Oyston family. I really feel for you at the moment.

@RoryBreaker420: My club Scunny had some similar issues. Keep up the fight need to mobilise your supporters

@kurtyoafc: Not too dissimilar to what Oldham were going through with Abdallah, we eventually got rid of him and now we’ve got an owner that actually cares about the club. Good luck guys

@yankeeyk: Really sorry to hear it. I’m a Southend fan. We had similar problems with a corrupt owner. Thankfully we finally managed to get rid of him after 22 years. It’s disgraceful that these type of people are able to own football clubs.

@Kirkjdr6: It’s very straight forward for me ….once Morfuni and the gang go, I’ll be back. I miss it, but this is what I decided last year.

@Tommy_Oldham1: Oldham fan here quoted and shared good luck.

@peterho55472992: Best wishes from an Oldham fan! Wouldn’t wish this on my worsed enemy

@NickJonesWealth: Sorry to see and a definite failing of the @EFL Fit & Proper regs. My own beloved @shrewsburytown are seeking new owners and we’re hoping to avoid such crooks. Good luck 🤞 🙌 #STFC

@harryy6666: Best of luck getting this sorted. There are too many owners who shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near clubs.

@tomtaylor2988: Hope you can find a proper owner. Been there and it’s horrendous! All the best lads save your club! #STFC #oafc

@Elliot_Stfc: Really really good read, hope more people see this and are more aware

@Stever62Roberts: Good luck with trying to get your club back, guys. We have our own problems at tranmere at the moment. Not on your scale granted. But still worrying times with venture capitalists lurking in the background looking to make a killing on the ground sale.

@joteddyuk: For those still refusing to believe that Morfuni is killing our club and saying he’s a decent bloke, have a read of the below. These people need to get out of our club before the damage can’t be reversed.

@Stretch972: My club Torquay went through shit like this now we got a great local board. I hope Swindon get sorted with out

@AlParke17490094: We are in the same situation at Morecambe FC, the club is dying!

@Nozzzaaaa: We feel your pain and are in the same boat – I hope you get it sorted – it’s a never ending nightmare! These “owners” have a lot to answer for 😡 #SellBeforeWeDai
