Footage of Scott Parker’s passionate half time speech in Bournemouth’s promotion decider against Nottingham Forest is doing the rounds.
The Cherries boss has gone on to earn huge amounts of praise and admiration as the clip uploaded by afcbTV shows what he said to inspired his side to clinch promotion back to the Premier League… and what a fascinating watch it truly is, even if you support Nottingham Forest.
It was last Tuesday when the crunch clash took place with the scoreline at 0-0 by half time and it was the visitors looking more likely to come away with the huge three points.
However Steve Cooper’s side squandered their chance to replace Bournemouth in the second automatic promotion place with one game left of the Championship season.
Parker watch on as a a much improved second half display saw Kieffer Moore score the only goal of the game to break the hearts of Forest fans and send the Cherries back into the top flight, ending their two season stay in the second tier.
Here’s just some of what he said before and after the game…
HALF TIME “Do not let this become an emotional game. I said at the start lads, they have got it all to do. Not us. Not us boys. They have. So understand it. Be brave in our moments. Manage the game at times as well as understand at times we’re going to have to go long. That’s not a problem at all if their press is right. Perfect balance.
“But understand as well lads, the front five in this team, in our team, in my team, are deadly against their team. So get them in the foot race, get it into our feet, be creative in and around the box. Then, in the other side of the game, do it to a tee like you have and we go again. Let’s go.”
FULL TIME “I said before lads about the thought of what this day will bring. More importantly, I’ve said it was from the start about the work we do, and everything we’ve done. And to a man boys, not just tonight, I’m very proud of every single one of you. Very, very proud of every single one of you. And you deserve everything you get. You deserve everything you get.”
“Why? Because I see a group of players that come in every day and give us everything. And when you do that, like I’ve always said to you boys, you have a chance in life. You’ve earned the right lads. You’ve earned your moment. I can’t thank you enough. I can’t be more proud of you lads. One more thing I want. The song we go out to, can we put it on… I want to see it bouncing boys!”
Behind-the-scenes footage released by Bournemouth shows bits of Scott Parker’s half-time team talk from the dressing room.

“I was disappointed with us in the first half,” Parker told DorsetLive after the game. “We made the game a basketball match. I spoke to the team about the emotion of the game and what the emotion could bring. We got enrolled in that emotion.’
