VIDEO: Topless man with a bouquet of flowers invades pitch at AFC Fylde v Peterborough Sports

A topless man with a bouquet of flowers ran across the pitch as AFC Fylde played their FA Cup tie against Peterborough Sports.

The moment which got some laughs from the crowd came on the 80th minute when the Coasters were 4-0 up before they went on to win 6-1.

“The saga comes to a conclusion as he topples the fence and falls on his face – but only after showing a clean set of heels to the stewards.

“A turn of pace I didn’t think he had to him, to be honest.

“Now he may not be the hero we wanted, but by jove he was the hero we needed.

“*Bonus points for the Indiana Jones’ style return for his top.*”

Fylde head into the First Round on Monday as ball number 61, and will be eyeing the likes of local neighbours Blackpool and Fleetwood.

They are without a permanent manager after they sacked Dave Challinor earlier this month with the club 22nd in the National League table after 16 games played.

John Hills and Brett Ormerod were in caretaker management for their latest fixture.
