VIDEO: Pitch invader dodges stewards before another has selfie with Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo posed with one of the many pitch invaders that took to the field during and after Manchester United’s Champions League defeat to Juventus.

It is reported that there were three separate that it happened with one of them came after the final whistle.

Ronaldo was the last player to leave the pitch as he shown his appreciation to his former club’s supporters. One pitch invader managed to get close to the player before being taken down.

The Portuguese international then told stewards that it was ok and then took a selfie with him. The other who also wanted to meet the star, gave security a run around, doing some dodges on the way before being taken away with nothing.

Greater Manchester Police say they kept a man in his 40s in custody overnight.

Manchester United have already been fined when they had to delay the kick off time of the match against Valencia by five minutes.

Jose Mourinho was given a formal warning. He and the team made sure they wasn’t late for last night’s game by putting themselves in a different hotel. They were on time, however were still caught up in traffic which saw Mourinho having to walk among fans for the remaining part of the journey.

United have since been charged by UEFA, the club say: “We will be responding to the UEFA charge and we are reviewing our pitchside security protocols in the light of the pitch incursions at last night’s game.”

 

Football fans took Twitter to voice their thoughts, many took to criticise Ronaldo for high-fiving and having a selfie with one, others joked how much faster they were compared to the Man Utd players in the match – check those tweets out on the next page.
