As England are now out of the World Cup after losing to Croatia last night, we have taken a look at Jordan Pickford’s best saves throughout the tournament.
Call us biased, but we think he surely has been the best goalkeeper at the World Cup, pulling off many stunning saves while he was impressive with his distribution too.
In proving his doubters wrong, Pickford has joined an elite group of English goalkeepers, to have left their footprints on this late stage of the World Cup – all whilst still sitting in single figures for international caps.
Take a look at some of those incredible saves he pulled off and reaction to them below and on the next few pages…
PICKFORD v COLOMBIA’s URIBE
— Francis Keogh (@HonestFrank) July 4, 2018
England were holding onto their 1-0 lead as they entered deep into injury-time.
With seconds remaining, Colombia’s Mateus Uribe unleashed an incredible 35-yard half-volley that looked to be heading into the top corner.
Pickford incredibly managed to get his fingers onto it to turn the ball around the post.
Seconds later the resulting corner came in and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina scored his third goal of the tournament in the 93rd-minute to send it into extra-time.

Nah, still don’t understand how Pickford saved that Uribe volley in injury time. Defies physics. Cannot stop watching it.

Overlooked because of what happened straight after it but what a save by Pickford from Uribe! Save of the tournament so far, for me.
