Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White vents fury with a ‘leg breaker’ challenge by a York City player in the two sides’ clash back in August.
Footage of the incident was uploaded in November by BunchOfAmateurs and has subsequently gone viral on Twitter, with fans in hysterics.
Dorking Wanderers went into this game knowing a result against visitors York City could give them renewed hope of consistency and climbing up the National League table.
The game played out to a 2-2 draw, James McShane opening the scoring to get the hosts ahead on 17 minutes, before Maziar Kouhyar levelled with around 30 minutes to play.
Dipo Akinyemi put York ahead with a quarter of an hour or so remaining, but Jason Prior made sure York weren’t coming away with all three points, netting to make it 2-2 with 5 minutes left of the 90 remaining.
It was in added time that York’s John-Lewis was handed a straight red by referee Wayne Cartmel after going over the top on Bowerman in the 90+6th minute. Fair to say it left Dorking boss Marc White livid…

Narrator: Of all the attempts to defend the challenge, we’re mostly bemused by Olly Dyson who reacts by poking his finger into the referee’s face as if to say, how dare you question this perfectly safe challenge, Mr. Referee?
White: That’s a leg breaker, man.
Narrator: There really is no defending that. Although the York bench aren’t accepting the red card either, for some reason.
White: Oh, you want him to break his fucking leg…
Fourth: Marc…
White: That’s a… fuck off, please. That’s a fucking leg break. Don’t be a wimp, don’t be a wimp.
Fourth: Settle, settle! Back you go.
White: That’s an absolute leg… I’m not shouting, we get on alright…
Fourth: Leave it now, he’s sent him off, that’s all he can do.
White: Mate, you ain’t my mum, I’m only talking to him
Fourth: Please just settle.
White: All I’m saying, mate, is, yeah, it’s an absolute leg breaker. Watch it back, mate. I promise you, I’m right by it. It’s off the ground, ankle high from that distance.
Narrator: Fortunately for Dorking, Issy the physio passes Seb as fit to finish the game.
Seb: it’s not broken.
Issy: So you’re alright to play on? Do you want to give it a go and see? Yeah, he’s going to give it a go.
