According to the head of the association of Europe’s biggest teams, a third competition could be added alongside the Champions League and Europa League from 2021.
There has been no details about it it has been talked about for months and there are plans to give more clubs from smaller nations the chance to play on the continental stage.
Regarding the future of @UEFA Club Competitions, Andrea Agnelli informed members:

Juventus chief and European Clubs Association (ECA) chairman Andrea Agnelli said: “These new regulations will be even more effective than the ones we had in place which delivered astonishing results which have just been announced by UEFA”.
“Pending approval of the UEFA ExCo, the ‘green light’ has been given to introduce a third competition, bringing the overall number of clubs to 96, as of the 2021/22 season.
“A detailed assessment of the existing International Match Calendar is required prior to presenting a new model post-2024. The current model needs modernising.”
It will mean that the group stage of the Europa League will be reduced from 48 teams to 32, with the new competition and the Champions League having the same number.
There used to have a third competition for winners of domestic cup competitions, known as the Cup Winners’ Cup, but it was got rid of in 1999.
