The alternative Championship table based on expected goals after six games

An alternative Championship table based on the expected goals (xG) after six games has been published by experimental361.com, which is run by Ben Mayhew.

It takes into account the number (and quality ie distance, type of shot, difficulty, number of defenders present affecting value etc) of each club’s attempts on goals during the first six fixtures of the season.

The higher the xG of a particular shot, the more likely a goal should be scored from that shot. The xG value of every shot in a game is then used to calculate the expected goals in a particular match. (Best summed up by talkSPORT)
