Burton Albion took on non-league Solihull Moors in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday and fell to a 3-2 defeat at Damson Park, one moment in the game saw a second-half cameo from the Brewers fitness coach Chris Beardsley.
Beardsley, who has been part of Nigel Clough’s backroom team at Burton for three years, came on the pitch as a half-time substitute and got himself on the scoresheet.
The League One side were 3-1 down and the 78th minute saw the former player poking the ball home from a Darren Bent header from close range.
78. GOAL!!! Darren Bent heads a corner at goal and Beardsley throws himself at it to put it over the line!

It gave Burton hope of grabbing an equaliser, which unfortunately they couldn’t find.
That wasn’t the first time Beardsley scored for the newly relegated side.
Just last night he got his second goal in as many games as Burton ended up losing 5-2 against Alfreton Town.
GOAL!!! It's two in two for Chris Beardsley! Long shot from @reecehutxchy is parried by Durrant into Beardsley's path – and he buries the follow-up!
Wish we'd created a Beardsley goal gif this morning…

He was name in the starting lineup and on 36 minutes, Reece Hutchinson’s shot from the edge of the box was saved and up came Chris Beardsley who pounced on the rebound to make it 1-1.
It seems he is certainly surprising the club and fans as there have been calls to sign him up.
