Rotherham fans have been captured on camera throwing objects as well as a bottle at Sheffield United’s Mark Duffy during the South Yorkshire derby.
The former Scunthorpe, Doncaster and Burton Albion player broke the deadlock in the 8th minute before going of to celebrate towards the corner flag.
However just as other members of the Blades squad approached the goalscorer, Rotherham fans started to hurl things at them, one of those was a green bottle (which you can see HERE) with leftover alcohol coming out as it was mid-air and bouncing on the pitch.
The footage below seems to miss it out as they cut to the travelling fans celebrating, but you can see the player react just as the objects were thrown…

Blades fans, who travelled to Rotherham, were banned from all of the town centre’s pubs.
Prior to the game, Chief Inspector Paul Ferguson said, as quoted by The Star: “We have been working with Rotherham United to ensure that the fixture is an enjoyable and safe occasion for all.
“There will be a visible presence in the town, to provide reassurance and to address any issues that may arise from the small minority that may seek to use the event as a means to cause disorder.
“I’d advise Sheffield United supporters to be aware that the pubs in Rotherham town centre will not be accommodating away supporters, so please bear this in mind.”
Football fans took to Twitter to give their reaction to what had happened between the Rotherham fans and the celebratory Blades players, Millers and rival fans however blamed Mark Duffy for inciting the home fans – take a look at what they’re saying on the next page.
