Police have decided to issue a statement over Neil Lennon as a second video emerges which has been circulating over social media this week.
The ex-Celtic boss is at the centre of a police probe over claims he was involved in an alleged cross-border Covid-breach.
Officers are investigating into a video clip which emerged online and appeared to show the former Celtic boss at a hotel in England – a day after outdoor pubs opened up again.
49 year old Lennon who lives in Glasgow, was filmed with Duncan Smillie, 50, owner of Glasgow Rocks basketball team and a board member of Partick Thistle.
The mobile phone footage is understood to have been filmed at the Halston Hotel in Carlisle, Cumbria, on Tuesday night.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The matter is being investigated to ascertain whether any breach of Coronavirus regulations has taken place.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further whilst this investigation takes place.”
While hospitality venues in England have been allowed to serve customers outside since Monday, current restrictions mean travelling between Scotland and England is still banned unless for essential and work purposes.
The hotel at the centre of the footage celebrated the return of customers with a series of photos on Tuesday after months of lockdown.
A message posted on social media read: “We are so happy to finally welcome our customers back to The Halston! The Garden Terrace is now open!”
Scottish hospitality bosses have expressed fears drinkers would “jump the border” to grab a pint in England after pubs reopened a fortnight before Scotland’s.
Scottish Hospitality Group spokesman Stephen Montgomery said: “We’re going to be seeing people jump the border for that long-awaited pint of cold beer while we still remain closed.”
In January Celtic chiefs issued a grovelling apology over a lockdown training camp to Dubai that backfired on them well and truly as a positive Covid test for Christopher Jullien forced a further 13 players and management to self-isolate.
Then manager Lennon and his players were also photographed drinking by a pool and seemed to ignore social distancing.
Ally McCoist branded the person who filmed and then shared a video of Neil Lennon ‘a disgrace’.
“I find stuff like this disgusting”, said the Breakfast host.
“We don’t know what state they’re in and how vulnerable they feel.”
A furious McCoist, who admitted he has been filmed in similar situations to Lennon before, added: “It shouldn’t be allowed. In my opinion it’s a complete and utter invasion of his privacy.
“And by the way I’ve been that way when you’re worse for wear with beer and alcohol.
“I’m not going to preach to anybody about it but I think the invasion of privacy is a complete disgrace.
“That is one of the worst inventions in the world; the camera phone. It gives people the license to take absolute liberties and it’s a scandal.”
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson told Go Radio: “Do you know what’s sad? The person who was videoing it.
“I don’t get what people get out of doing things like that. They think they’re funny, they think they’re big, they think they’re smart.
“I don’t like it, it just puts you off wanting to go out and socialise with your mates because you don’t know who could be videoing you.
“If you go out and let your hair down, let yourself have a couple of drinks and enjoy yourself – you’re allowed to do it, it’s your own free time.
