‘Please say it’s a piss take’ – Yeovil Town disgust fans with their new club crest unveiled on Tuesday afternoon… eeeeek!
The National League South leaders are changing their identify, and while it was always going to be a controversy move, it’s become even more so when they unveiled the new badge.
Back in May 2023, Yeovil Town chairman Martin Hellier said the Glovers were “embarking on a journey of brand modernisation” as it looks to update its look, before going on to say that the changes would take the club’s “existing, complicated, ‘hand drawn’ club logo to the next level” and promised there would be full consultation with supporters about the changes.
He posted a picture showing the badges of including the likes of Arsenal, Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur as just some examples of how the changes may take place.
The above post read: “A heads-up to all fans and supporter groups. Through the correct process of both FA and fan/community consultation, we shall be embarking on a journey of brand modernisation in the coming 12 months, to take our existing, complicated, ‘hand drawn’ club logo, to the next level.”
And here’s what they came up with…

CLUB STATEMENT:
After a number of brand consultation meetings, Yeovil Town Football Club is proud to unveil our dynamic new badge which will be used from next season onwards.Our new identity is a symbol that not only pays homage to our rich footballing tradition but also honours the storied glove-making heritage of our beloved town. Emblazoned with iconic gloves, this emblem serves as a powerful tribute to our community’s history and identity.
The inclusion of gloves in our new badge holds deep significance for Yeovil Town and our supporters. As the birthplace of the glove-making industry in the United Kingdom, Yeovil has long been synonymous with craftsmanship, innovation, and resilience. The gloves featured in our badge stand as a tribute to the skilled artisans and dedicated workers who have shaped our town’s legacy.
Moreover, the gloves hold a special place in the hearts of Yeovil Town fans, earning us the affectionate nickname “The Glovers.” This moniker not only reflects our town’s heritage but also embodies the spirit of teamwork, unity, and determination that defines our club.
At the heart of the new badge lies a tribute to the club’s founding year, 1895, encapsulating the traditional values of football that have guided Yeovil Town throughout its illustrious history. This inclusion serves as a proud reminder of the club’s enduring legacy in the world of football, honouring the pioneering spirit of its founders and the dedication of all those who have contributed to its success.
In designing our new badge, we sought to capture the essence of both our footballing tradition and our town’s proud history. The gloves and the ball serve as a powerful symbol of our identity, uniting past and present in a dynamic emblem that resonates with supporters young and old.
Together, as Glovers, we march forward with determination, unity, and pride, guided by the spirit of our town’s heritage and the passion of our supporters. With our new badge leading the way, the future of Yeovil Town Football Club is as bright and promising as ever.
As mentioned, Yeovil Town disgust fans with their new club crest…
@wattsy_uk: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” comes to mind. That is horrific.
@l_whiteytfc: That is tragic, absolutely shite
@ChrisLukeJones: Still waiting to see a redesign from a club that’s an improvement on the initial badge
@JoeEdws: Looks like they’re a PES team called Somerset Green ffs
@MattWood_97: After some fairly positive changes with the new ownership (as well as some poor ones) this is tragic. That is an awful badge for something that really didn’t need changing
@AllEnglandFlags: I thought Microsoft Paint has been deleted forever? That’s just as bad as that Leeds badge from 6 years ago.
@Liam_ytfc: That’s abysmal 🤢
@C0AKESY: That’s a horrendous badge 🤣
@RobGWarren4: As with most new badges, it looks shit.
@stephen_dimmock: That badge looks like it took 2 minutes to make by a GCSE student
@Owened04: Second thought it looks shit let’s get rid of it
@hennypompey: Jesus Christ 😂
@aup4dacrack: That’s the problem, people say they want to change and then they come up with this and let’s be frank it’s awful. If it’s not broken don’t try and fix it.
@Camiller26: Gotta be a joke ain’t it? Get Martin on the phone he’s fucked it.
@dylrider: Why do clubs do this when there’s no reason to change. If you are going to change it, at least ask for fans opinions before just saying there it is and tough sh*t. Also these minimalist new crests need to stop
@PhillipYTFC: What the fuck is that
@Harvey84819252: Looks like a child made it 🤣
@JoshRiggsx: That is absolutely fucking terrible
@SamBail14716614: That is horrific wtf made them change the old badge. 🤢🤢🤢
@RotundC: Delete and rethink needed. Fine for a range of merch, not a club badge though. Chucking away a lot of history for very little gain. Sorry.
@499times4: Wow – that’s really poor. I highly doubt a consultation has resulted in that outcome
@olih1891: It’s absolutely disgusting, why would you be proud to unveil that?
@wattsy_uk: Jesus, read the room guys. Backtrack needed asap. We should be embracing our history, not modernity.
@sartin_lewis: What the fuck is that
@zider_red: Did they actually pay someone to come up with that? It’s shockingly bad
@smithy0601: Wtf is that
@GarethParry: Why do clubs do this 😐
@JBCOYS99: This new badge is horrific. What tf are they doing?! The badge now is gorgeous. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it
@silaswilliams0: Like some unlicensed club badge on FM🤣
@DanWrexham: That looks fucking awful
@KZYbafc: It wasn’t broken though?
@spencermatt: This has gone down well….TBF it’s not great.
@bfdbannon: Why do clubs keep trying to do these shit rebrands
@Simon_Woodsell: Good grief it looks like on of those fake PL Football Manager badges.
@SamYTFC: What the fuck is this monstrosity
@josh_anthony4: No no no no no no no no please no
@jackmcdougall5: What on earth 🤮
@aup4dacrack: Basically It looks cheap!
@TomMarshall94: Why do teams do this? Absolutely horrific and I’ve never seen it be received well
@LewisZebedee01: you are taking the piss
@rickmckendross: Far too early for an April Fool’s joke
@Puddy148: Tell me that isn’t our new badge.?
@4554_w: Why change it . That new badge is fucking awful
@JTMarshyy: There’s still time to delete this post
@lucasrobbo138: Looks like a fucking pro clubs badge
@NickMurphy1995: The amount of time and money clubs spend on these and nine times out of ten they look horrendous. This could be any club’s badge without the words ‘Yeovil Town’ on the top.
