PLAYER RATINGS: Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

Newcastle United have claimed their third win in a row as they beat Burnley to climb to their joint-highest position in the Premier League table.

The game was delayed for 30 minutes and didn’t kick off until 8:30pm as referees’ assessor Eddie Wolstenholme collapsed in tunnel. He is reported to have been taken to hospital in a conscious state.

It was just 4 minutes into the match when Rafa Benitez’s men went 1-0 up through Ben Mee’s own goal.

Ciaran Clark doubled the Magpies’ lead almost 20 minutes later, putting a free header into the bottom corner.

Just before half time, Sam Vokes made it 2-1, putting the Clarets back in with a chance to get something from the game.

Newcastle could have got a few more goals, one of those chances saw substitute Joselu hit the woodwork with 10 minutes left on the clock.

That however was the closest to any player scoring another goal and the Magpies secured another important win.
