Ole Gunnar Solskjaer found himself in a bizarre incident with fan as he left Old Trafford following his side’s win against Brighton.
Manchester United are said to be reviewing their manager’s travel arrangements after he was targeted involving what has been described as an ‘overzealous autograph-hunter’.
The 48 year old Norwegian, who usually makes time for the club’s supporters pre-pandemic, was leaving the city-centre Lowry Hotel.
That is where the Red Devils stay before home matches, when he was approached on the steps.
After getting to his own car, Solskjaer was then bizarrely followed in another vehicle by a frustrated punter, who got out at the first set of traffic lights and hit his fists on the manager’s window.
The Premier League outfit believe the incident was a ‘one-off’ but are examining Solskjaer’s arrangements.
It comes two months after police have hit out at a group of West Ham fans for what they did outside the London Stadium.
Metropolitan Police have criticised certain individuals for turning up at the ground before their meeting with League One Doncaster Rovers in January.
In details being posted via the @MPSWestHamUtdFC Twitter account, the supporters travelled to the ground, in the hope that they could get some signatures.
This was in fact breaking Covid lockdown rules at the time because it wasn’t essential travel, members of the public can do the following:
– Shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person
– Go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home
– Exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person (in which case you should stay 2m apart). Exercise should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
– Meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one
– Seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)
– Attend education or childcare – for those eligible

After being questioned jokingly whether it was the individuals’ job to get autographs, @MPSWestHamUtdFC responded: “If it was their job i will check with HMRC to check if they are declaring earning”
One user, @GaryAPrince, wrote: “Good work, who were they reported to?
To which the police replied with: “Its how it works in relation to Covid fixed penalty notices they are issued similar to traffic offences.
Ie we report for the consideration of prosecution. We then do the paperwork and they are then sent an FPN through the post.”
@Mrs_R_Swipe was left surprised, saying: Wow.
Five? Travelling as one group? Or five individuals? Beggars belief that they thought it was ok.
@MPSWestHamUtdFC added: 4 in the same car 1 walked off in a different direction
