The official name and a stadium groundshare has been revealed for the reformed Nuneaton club ahead of the 2024/25 season.
A vote led to the club being officially known as Nuneaton FC, instead of Nuneaton Town,, but it turns out they will have to go with the latter.
Nuneaton FC had confirmation from Birmingham County FA that they have not approved the name Nuneaton FC, but have indicated that the other option of Nuneaton Town FC is acceptable, and this has now gone to the relevant FA committee for final approval.
Plans are in place to get going again next season in a two-season deal with neighbours Bedworth United
Bedworth currently play in fourth tier of non league football, in the Northern Premier League West, two levels below where Nuneaton Borough had been before withdrawing.
Boro left the Southern League Premier Division Central on the 18th of January 2024 with it expected to be wound up by His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs.
Hopes of a takeover quickly faded – and there are now no listed directors to start insolvency proceedings, coming three months after being evicted from their previous home ‘Liberty Way’ in the town, just under five miles away from their new groundshare.
Fan-owned Nuneaton FC face a deadline of the 1st of March if they are to be allowed to enter the non-league pyramid system for the 2024-25 season – and do not know yet whether they have been accepted or at which level they will play.

STATEMENT:
NAMING YOUR NEW CLUB
The waiting is over, and we can now reveal the result of our recent poll in which fans expressed their preference for the name of the new club.
The number of responses exceeded all our expectations, and the name the fans chose is Nuneaton FC.
This name will now be submitted for approval to the FA.
The poll also included a survey asking fans if they would like to volunteer to help with the new club.
Mark Axon, a board member of the Nuneaton Boro Supporters’ Co-operative commented “The response to the poll was way beyond what we expected, with 899 votes cast. Of these, 157 volunteered to help as the club develops. This underlines how much support the new club has within Nuneaton.”
The Co-operative will now submit a formal application to the FA to join the National League System next season, using the fans’ preferred name.
We have already begun work on designing a club badge and options for this will be subject to another fans’ vote in due course.
Excellent progress is being made by sub-committees within the steering group, each focusing on specific aspects of the new club’s development both on and off the field.
As we are sure you appreciate, some of the negotiations taking place are of a sensitive nature and we will update you as soon as possible.
We will announce a date for an open meeting to update supporters on progress in the next week or two once negotiations on some key issues have been concluded.
The Co-operative would like to thank the Football Supporters’ Association, who are supporting us every step of the way. They are providing us with access to their legal representatives to ensure that we have the best possible advice.
We would also like to thank fans for their continued patience and support as we work through everything that we need to launch the new club.
A few days later, they wrote: “3G Pitch and Stadium Hire Agreement made with Bedworth United for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons. Please see the statement released by the board of Bedworth United FC Ltd below and we will provide a further update in due course.
“We are very grateful for the support of Bedworth United in reaching this agreement as we continue to explore ways to return to play in Nuneaton as soon as possible.”
BEDWORTH UNITED STATEMENT
Bedworth United AFC Ltd is pleased to announce the signing of a 3G Pitch and Stadium Hire Agreement with the newly formed Nuneaton FC.
The intention is that both First Teams will play alternative Saturday afternoons commencing Season 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 with the option for a third season 2026/2027. In the event of any fixture conflict Bedworth United AFC, as the host Club, will take priority.
Nothing in the Agreement will impinge on the status of the current Bedworth United‘s own Stake Holders, Junior Section etc.
The financial benefits of the Hire Agreement along with the Club House revenue including the Snack Bar will be solely for Bedworth United AFC Ltd. All other Match Day revenue, Gate takings etc will be solely for Nuneaton FC.
Bedworth United recognises that this has been a challenging time for Nuneaton Supporters. Hopefully this agreement will be the start of some positivity for their future. Whilst we are rivals on the pitch none of us would wish to see a proud club and its supporters go out of existence.
The people behind the new Nuneaton FC set up are good people with the best interest of the Club and supporters being paramount in any future developments. We at Bedworth wish them success for the future.

The Executive Board of Directors
