Notts County issue strong statement as National League talk to the FA about wanting to end their season as soon as possible.
The league want to define all reasonable and practical options on how the campaign ends (either null & void or promotion/relegation).
Our response after the media published a National League statement to clubs earlier today ?https://t.co/YLMN346oRH

“The Notts County board of directors have issued the following message to our supporters following the media’s publication of a National League statement to clubs, the content of which suggests the league’s intention is to close the 2019-20 season as soon as possible.
“We appreciate that today’s media coverage has caused a great deal of confusion and concern to our fans who are very keen to see us complete our season. Naturally, we share their desire to continue our push for at least a play-off position and a place in the Buildbase FA Trophy final.
“While we have yet to be officially consulted by the National League, we’d like to assure our supporters that we have already strongly stated our case for all remaining fixtures to be played so that promotion and relegation matters can come to a natural conclusion.
“It’s our firm belief that a dynamic approach needs to be taken in order to preserve the integrity of both the National League and the FA Trophy and we have shared several ideas with the league, the EFL and the FA on how we feel this can be achieved.
“As the EFL’s decision on the best way forward will directly impact the National League in terms of promotion and relegation to/from League Two, we don’t anticipate the National League will rush into any decisions without exhausting all possible options, and hope they will take the time to carefully consider the several viable suggestions we believe we have presented to them.
“We look forward to receiving further correspondence from the league and hopefully returning to the 2019-20 campaign when it is safe to do so.”

How lucky are we to have these owners ? No drama, no self promotion, just a clear indication to the National League of their views

If the NL declare their season null and void then we should be reinstated in to the EFL to replace Bury as the next highest finishing team at the end of last season in L2 surely ?

Thanks Notts. Season much be finished even if it means big changes next season with no cups etc. Games behind close doors has to be an option in a few weeks

Treat this season as null and void, only one team goes down from 2018-19 following Bury’s demise so we start the 20-21 season in the EFL. ?

Well In Notts. Would be fucking bullshit if the @TheVanaramaNL cancelled the league with the things we could potentially achieve this season.

Wouldn't hold your breath, they didnt take much notice of us regarding the Fylde debacle!
— rusty_pies (@rusty_pies62) March 25, 2020
..and if the EFL do the same then we will still be the world's oldest football league club as the 2019/20 season wouldn't exist in the records ?
— Paul Mundell (@munderspi) March 25, 2020
So, if they abandon this season, would we have a legal right to additional parachute payments from the EFL?
