A non league club have seats burnt and broken in a disgusting attack with times already tough due to the coronavirus pandemic right now.
Llantwit Major of the JD Cymru South in Wales, uploaded photos of the damaged caused to the ground and have since set up a GoFundMe page, but instead they have decided that proceeds should go to the NHS.
The club wrote on Twitter: “Very sad to report. some time over the last couple weeks our seats in the stand at Frampton have been vandalised
“Seats have been broken, also looks as though there has been a fire
“As a club we have worked so hard to get the stand & seats,to see this damage is sickening.”
They said on their donation page: “In recent days, our Windmill Lane stadium was badly damaged by vandals. Seats have been destroyed, and there was an attempt to burn down the stand which we have spent so much time and effort on building. For a small community club with a tiny budget, this is a horrible blow, but it is one we will recover from.
“After posting the story on Twitter, we have had several very kind offers of financial support. This is incredibly generous, and just goes to show how great 99% of the football family is. However, due to the current situation with COVID-19, we did not think it was appropriate to ask people for money in these times.
“Instead, we would like to take this act of senseless vandalism and turn it into a positive. For the next two weeks we will be taking donations, however 100% of this money will be donated to the NHS to help our medical heroes with the current challenge they face.
“If you still wish to help out the club, the best possible way to do so will be to come down and join us for a pint and cheer on the boys at a game when the season eventually restarts!”

I’m really sorry that this has happened to your club. Like so many others you work to compete at a high level and also give opportunities to boys and girls to develop in the game. This mindless behaviour is an attack on Welsh Football as a whole. Wishing you well!

Hate to see this sort of thing. I went to your place early in the season to see you narrowly lose to Met in the cup. Hopefully you can get it sorted and find the culprits.
