Newcastle United fans rage at VAR missing what Harry Maguire did to Jamaal Lascelles during the Premier League fixture on Sunday.
Footage went viral with the England international accused of elbowing the 27 year old Magpie off the ball during Manchester United’s victory.
Newcastle looked a much improved side, despite that, suffered another loss and this time to Solskjaer’s team, though gave a really good go as exposing the hosts, leaving the Red Devils struggling in the first half.

Solskjaer’s side looked particularly poor in when trying to defend set pieces, going on to concede via Saint-Maximin’s shot in the first half.
Maguire, who certainly has performed miserably of late, caused plenty of issues for the hosts and some fans believe he should have been sent off.
A video from the first half shows a cross swung in, before De Gea makes a pretty routine catch. However at the far post, Maguire, in an attempt to block Lascelles from the ball, seems to make contact with his opponent.

Just last week the Maguire was unhappy when he wasn’t awarded a penalty for what he believed to be a trip in the box against West Brom.
United’s captain claimed that suggestions from Klopp and Mourinho, about the amount of penalties Solskjaer’s side have had, lead to referees discriminating against Manchester United.
“Ever since other people from other teams spoke about us we’ve had absolutely nothing from the referee or VAR,” he told MUTV.

Man Utd did go on to win the game, putting on a better showing in the second half, though it was Maguire’s fault the scoreline was then level.
After Rashford’s opener, the former Hull defender went to head clear a corner and got no distance on his header.
Instead it landed to Saint-Maximin who smashed past De Gea to make it 1-1 at the break, which was a deserved position for the Magpies.
James got United’s second on the 57th minute, before Fernandes scored a penalty to make it 3-1 on the 75th minute.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAID:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “We had to up the tempo a little bit, especially in the last third and I felt we managed to do that. It is always difficult to get going after an away game in Europe.
“Even though we dominated possession and had a lot of the ball we couldn’t create many opportunities. I felt in the second half we found our positions better.
“We can’t control any other team, we just have to focus on ourselves and be the best possible Manchester United every game. Things happen and there are many surprises in football.”
Steve Bruce: “It’s the second goal isn’t it? A wicked deflection and a bit of luck and the third one, it’s a very soft penalty. For 60 minutes we gave as good as we got.
“We were disrupted when we lost Joelinton, it’s difficult to replace him but I was pleased with an hour. When you come here you have got to be good for 90 minutes. There were pleasing signs but you have got to turn pleasing signs into results.
“We will have a look at the goalkeeper, he will be disappointed to be beaten at the near post for the first goal. It’s been a difficult week but we have games coming up where we think we can take points.
“We are a threat now, we are trying to be higher up the pitch. It will take some getting used to because we have played a certain way for a while.
“I am convinced we will be safe, there are six or seven teams looking over their shoulders. We need to win a few games. We have to get to that magical point mark – whatever it is.”
As mentioned, Newcastle fans rage at VAR missing what Harry Maguire did to Jamaal Lascelles…
@champions_pl19: Because its United ffs. Clattenburg even admitted they used to give them favourable decision. Its a long history between the refs and United now. They love each other. Embarrassing honestly.
@LaCobhamCFC: it’s maguire, he kicked Batshuayi in the bollocks and headlocked azpi and got nothing
@t_j_mcg: That’s violent conduct surely? This is the sort of thing VAR should be used for, not a marginal offside that nobody saw / considered.
@thfc_josh_: I thought this should’ve been a pen at the time but the commentators said nothing about it for some reason
@bellzy04: But all the decisions go against them apparently
@GerWillzLFC: @FA you lot gonna take retrospective action or gonna show your biased towards United yet again
@james_carroll95: That is actually shocking. The level of refereeing in this country is absolutely shambolic no wonder English officials don’t go to the World Cup or euros, needs punishing for this.
@bazcollins30: This game is totally corrupt. VAR is meant to ensure that all decisions are the correct ones yet there was no review of the penalty and Maguire forearmed Lascelles in the box and wasnt looked at. The game is fucked.
@NUFC_LEW: Rashford dived to get a penalty = Pen, Martial kicks out at Lascelles = Nothing, Lascelles gets wiped out in the box by Maguire, no intent of playing the ball = Nothing, Ball comes off Lewis’ knee from a Dan James Cross = Checks VAR, This league is rotten to the core
@MaximumNUFC_: maguire punching lascelles isn’t a pen now lol
Newcastle fans among others continued to rage at what Harry Maguire did to Jamaal Lascelles…
@SteveMartin_TM: Shit! That’s shocking, how did he get away with that?
@vegan_explorer: Not sure how Maguire elbowing Lascelles in the box isn’t a penalty or worthy of VAR…same old referees and Man Utd.
@scottwl2: Because it’s Newcastle didn’t deserve to be checked
@philymac: Ok there is something going on with Harry “Easter Island ” Maguire, how many times does he get way with stuff like this that isn’t even looked at!!! 🤬 talk about special treatment.
@Samgrace55: The FA NEED TO ACT ON THIS AND NOT BRUSH IT UNDER THE CARPET!! why didn’t referee or VAR PICK UP ON IT!!! Oh sorry it’s united. Enough said!!!
@NUFC_JJ: What’s the point in VAR? The Premier League is corrupt. Fulham getting off yesterday and then today Maguire taking out Lascelles again no check. A pathetic penalty given to Man Utd for breathing on Rashford. This isn’t football, it’s the pantomime @mrjakehumphrey #NUFC #VAR
