National League North club to play friendly against Dutch club

News has been revealed yesterday that Darlington will be travelling to Holland during pre-season this summer.

The club announced that they’ll be taking on Jong PSV at PSV Eindhoven’s training facilities which consists of several grass and artificial pitches, extensive training facilities, and a fitness centre.



Jong PSV are PSV Eindhoven’s reserve team, and play in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, one division below their Premier League. Entrance to the match, which kicks off at 1pm, will be free.

Manager Tommy Wright said; “I feel honoured to have been invited to play this friendly away in Eindhoven and at their amazing training facility which is currently undergoing huge redevelopment. It will be a great experience for the lads and a great weekend away for the fans. I have good friendships with all of the staff there and I’m sure we will be made to feel very welcome during our visit.”

The date of the friendly will be Saturday 14th July.

Many supporters have apparently already booked up within 24 hours of the news coming out.
