Milton Keynes Dons have been relegated to League Two after a 2-0 defeat at home to Scunthorpe this afternoon.
The defeat leaves the club below rivals AFC Wimbledon in the Football League ladder for the first time.
Relegation puts the Dons in the fourth tier of English football for the first time since 2008.
The club cancelled its end-of-season awards ceremony that was scheduled for Tuesday.
Dons were relegated from the Championship in 2016.
AFC Wimbledon were formed 16 years ago when Wimbledon FC, nicknamed The Dons, controversially relocated to Milton Keynes and subsequently became MK Dons.
Phoenix club AFC started life in the Combined Counties League – the ninth tier of English football – in 2002 and have since won six promotions, reaching League One via the play-offs in 2016.
Should AFC Wimbledon survive this season, they will be playing a tier above MK Dons for the first time.
