Millwall brilliantly troll bitter comments made in an interview after beating Burnley in the Championship at the weekend.
Jake Cooper’s header sealed a third straight win for Neil Harris’ Lions, with the result moving them up to seventh in the Championship table at the time.
But the interviewer talking to Clarets boss Scott Parker claimed that Millwall was celebrating like that had ‘won the World Cup’.
It clearly caught the attention of Millwall, who responded with a gone viral tweet cheekily mocking those comments, take a look below…

Millwall head coach Neil Harris said, per BBC Sport:
“We’re disappointed we’re not higher up the league. We should have a lot more points than we have.
“We won’t bemoan that because we feel we are a team going in the right direction, but we haven’t come across a team better than us yet.
“The players are flying at the moment.”
When asked if it was a typical Millwall performance Harris said: “Yeah, in many ways it was.
“I thought Burnley made it very clear in the first two minutes how they wanted the game to go: slow, keep the ball, try and frustrate us and the crowd. I thought they were the better team for the first twenty minutes.
“Then I thought we just grew into the game and I thought we finished the first half so strongly. I was disappointed not to be in front of the break.
“I said to the boys at half time my gut feeling as a Millwall manager here at the Den is that we had them. We just had the belief, and we just committed an extra body forward when we attacked that we could find the openings.
“I thought for 25 minutes in the second half we just imposed ourselves so strongly. I think the 70th minute the first time they had a touch in our penalty area.
“It is credit to the players [That Burnley were restricted]. You have to appreciate just how tactical and technical the game is now and there is a lot of video work and classroom stuff that goes into it.
“Then you translate that on to the pitch. The players, I’m sure, get bored of listening to me at times. A message overload. But it is important they gain the knowledge. We knew Burnley would have the football but it was important where they had the ball. We controlled that really, really well.
“Once we grew into the game the more bodies we committed on to their backline, the tougher it was for them to defend.
“We were a little bit passive with the football in the first half, despite controlling the ball nicely at times. We went around the outside well but didn’t have that next action.”

Burnley head coach Scott Parker said, per BBC Sport:
“The long pause in the game [when the linesman was injured] may have been a factor.
“We are a young team, the players have maybe not seen that before.
“After that point, Millwall seemed to get some momentum. Then in the second half we never really got going.”
Speaking about his side’s start to the game, Parker said, per Burnley Express: “I thought we controlled the start of the game, quietened down the stadium, nullified Millwall’s threats. It’s a tough place to come, the way they play with long balls and second balls. That side of the game is key and I thought we did that well.
“The back end of the first half we lose our way a little bit, get involved in the emotion of the game. For a young team, that affected us a little bit and we fell a little bit short.”
The Burnley boss was then asked directly whether the situation with the linesman had affected his side’s momentum. During that break, players could be seen desperately asking for a ball to keep their muscles warm as officials sorted out the swap.
Parker replied: “Definitely. That long pause in the game. That may have been a factor. At that point, with a young team who had maybe not seen that before. Certainly, after that point they start to get some momentum, Trafford has to pull off a save, we concede corners which puts pressure on us. Second half, we never really got going until maybe the subs came on.”

@Jw95Kieran: I watched the entire interview, and I missed this comment. We’ve had a shocker here 🤣 outstanding banter. You deserved the W on Saturday, every reason to celebrate however you like! Fair play 🤝
@BrittainSeason: dw lads burnley seem to think cause they had a couple of seasons in the prem, they’re massive when in fact they still the smallest club in lancashire 🤣
@puffingrowler: Every right to do so bearing in mind they bought a player off the bench that cost more than our whole team
@BFCAsh_: What the fuck is our interviewer thinking? I’m actually stunned at some of the people in our club atm. Arrogance at its finest.
@benj_capper: Tbf our interviewer is embarrassing there. Forgot you can’t celebrate beating a ‘promotion contender’ with them barely having a shot on target. Enjoy your win you battered us
@TurfCastPodcast: In fairness, that’s an absolutely awful comment.
@Bensonsleftfoot: We’ve been finessed off Millwall it’s time to pack it in
@JPMillwall2: You can see Parker cringing from that question. Who does that interviewer think Burnley are 😂
@RhysBoyyy: God forbid anyone celebrates there team scoring anymore. Deary me. Everyone should just boo instead. Absolute drip whoever that gargoyle doing the interview.
@CodeUnknownYT: Nah, we deserve the bants on this one. Our media team are by far and away the worst in the country. Even Parker would have been cringing at that question. You guys played well and earned a bloody good win.

@RayHan665: We didn’t deserve anything TBF. Impressed with Lions and the way their fans got behind them. I was reeling from paying £4.50 for a sausage roll. 🥴
