Riley McGree’s quality assist beautifully sets up Emmanuel Latte Lath who sends several QPR players ‘on their arse’ for his goal.
Middlesbrough went ahead on the half hour mark, brilliant work by Doak down the right, beating his man and picked out McGree, who converts first-time at the near post.
Then five minutes later, Ayling sent Azaz away down the right and he slid in an inch-perfect ball which Conway slotted in from close range to make it 2-0.
QPR got one back just after the break with Cook scrambling home at the back post.
The 87th minute saw Boro go 3-1 up, McGree played in Latte Lath and he worked himself an open goal, terribly defending from Queens Park Rangers.
Dan Barlaser made it four right at the end, curled his effort into the bottom corner in the 95th minute.

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes, speaking at the post-match press conference, said:
“In a few minutes we conceded two goals that we should defend much better and suddenly we’re 2-0 down in minute 35.
“I think we reacted after that and we created three good saves for the keeper [Seny Dieng]. We knew that by scoring one goal before half-time could give us some help in how to approach the second half but the keeper was brilliant.
“We were trying to push in the last minutes [with the score 2-1] and we were risking more and more.
“A counter, a very good player that comes from the bench in a situation that we knew that we could happen when we are risking the match, then for me the game is kind of over.”
Cifuentes per BBC Sport:
“It was a game that we started slow. In three minutes we conceded two which we should defend better, we reacted after that and their keeper made three good saves.
“At half-time we felt that we needed to keep believing, we put more pressure with our goal and kept pushing and risked more but a counter and a very good player came off the bench (Latte Lath) – it was over.
“They got it right, they had two shots and two goals and had the quality to finish the actions. It’s disappointing, today’s result, but we need to look forward and change the dynamic.”

Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick said:
“We had to work for it, to be honest. I thought we played some really good football in spells, maybe not as long as we wanted to.
“We could have made it a little easier for ourselves but credit to QPR, they made us work for it.
“But I thought the quality of some of the goals and some of the football was really good and we showed a bit of character and composure in the second half to see the game through.”
Michael Carrick, per Sky Sports:
“I’m delighted, we had to work for it. Credit to QPR, they made us work but the quality was good and we showed character and composure to see the game through.
“It’s good for the boys, they gave everything, their attitude and effort is top drawer. It’s just experience with how to see games out, it was a test at 2-1 but we saw it out and the boys off the bench made a good impact for us.
“It’s a good step for us and to win, the way it happened, the boys will take a boost after they pulled that one off.”
