Loris Karius has another howler before Chester pre-season friendly

Liverpool returned to action for the first time since their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in May and all eyes were on ‘keeper Loris Karius.

He came under fire after he made two major mistakes in the final which Jurgen Klopp insisted the errors were heavily influenced by a concussion he suffered during a collision with Sergio Ramos.

While warming up for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against National League North side Chester, Karius was seen warming up in front of goal as a few shots were sent in his direction.

But hilariously, he allowed one of the shots to slip through his legs and bounced into the goal behind him.

Karius didn’t have much to do against Chester but did pull off a great early save when, just eight minutes in, he stood up to the onrushing Jordan Archer and got a foot to his low effort.

The shot-stopper was replaced at half-time but only as Klopp was keen to give Danny Ward some minutes ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Liverpool went on to win beat the newly relegated side 7-0.

The mistake highlighted prior to the game by fans on social media shows just how intense the spotlight on the German is, and will continue to be going into the new season.
