The odd choice of shoes wasn’t enough to put the Premier League side off as Fulham went on to advance through to the next round.
Joe Bryan put the Cottagers in front (7′) before Luca de la Torre doubled the lead early into the second half (52′).
Tom Elliott gave some hope for the hosts through his header on the 61st minute.
However, Cyrus Christie extinguished Millwall’s optimism, scoring the third to secure a 3-1 win for Fulham.
History was made during game when Fulham’s Harvey Elliott became the youngest player to appear in English football at the age of 15 years and 174 days coming onto the pitch as a late substitute.
The youngster (and his hair) as well as the linesman’s odd choice of footwear got plenty of reaction on social media – see what Twitter users are saying on the next page.
