League Two player shaves head to raise money for NHS – challenges fans and players to do it

League Two player shaves head to raise money for NHS and has even challenged football fans, players and staff to do it too.

The former Newcastle, Swindon, Colchester, Yeovil, Newport and Northampton defender Ben Tozer, who is now captain at Cheltenham, pledged to give himself a drastic trim if his total passed £100, and before he knew it, he reached over £500.

“The NHS needs us, just as we need the NHS right now,” Tozer said.

“We have all desperately needed the NHS in our lives, whether that was when we ourselves were born, or got injured, or when a loved one has fallen ill.”

“The NHS has never needed us as badly as it does now, so with inspiration from others I decided I wanted to do something to help.

“I want to challenge the players, staff and maybe even fans to shave their hair off the raise vital funds.

“If I can get one, two, or even three others to do it, that would be amazing.

“Let’s do anything we can to help because the NHS is on its knees at the moment.”
