A furious Jeff Stelling calls police after “scumbags” vandalise his car as he hosts an event in Chesterfield over the weekend.
The talkSPORT breakfast host is currently on a UK Tour and his ‘An Evening with Jeff Stelling’ has been held in theatres across the country.
Stelling, 68, spent his Sunday evening in Chesterfield, spreading joy and sharing experiences, only to discover upon finishing his show that his car had been badly damaged.
<>One of his doors was sliced open, causing significant damage to the bodywork. Stelling disclosed that he had reported the incident to the police and also expressed his disgust towards the culprits mocking him on social media. The former Sky Sports presenter however said late Sunday night: “Thanks Chesterfield. Anyone who knows the scumbags who did this to my car while I was trying to entertain people please let me know. What the fuck has happened to people.
“@DerPolContact any prospect of you attending Casa hotel for attempted car theft/serious damage on Range River Sport reported over an hour ago? I know you have other things to do but told a police van came past briefly but no one yet bothered to contact me – the owner.”
Jeff also vented frustration at those trying to wind him up, claiming they saw what happened and alleged they had photos. Jeff asked to have them.

Twitter users reacted as Jeff Stelling calls police after “scumbags” vandalise his car as he hosts his event in Chesterfield…
@MPI_geog: Gutted for you Jeff. Took my dad for Christmas present tonight and had a super time. So sorry to see society shows it’s all too common colours tonight.
@M_v_Baron: Don’t hold out for the police Jeff. A few mates had their vans done with thousands of £’s of tools stolen, basically their livelihoods and the police did absolutely nothing. One just got a response that we are aware that this happens a lot in this car park 😡
@SeelsyA: I live there and can confirm it’s getting worse in certain areas. The majority of us are very decent people though. I’m sorry this has happened to you. It makes me so angry that people behave this way.
@Charlie93246081: I can’t think why anyone would target you Jeff. Always very popular and entertaining. Possibly Hartlepool’s finest export.
@bigphil321: Shocking & disgraceful that 😤😤😤😫😫😫 Whatever you think of people, sports allegiances, political views, or just have an opinion… There’s no need or excuse for doing this, and I hope they get exposed, arrested & charged..
@GGotham: What actually goes through some peoples heads, what pleasure do the idiots get from this, baffles me 😡😡
@suzispw: It’s appalling Jeff. Some elements of our society have absolutely zero respect for others.
@hartlepoolhelen: Wow that is some nasty piece of work who did that, I hope they catch them
@Wires13: Hope they find them Jeff and decent people will help you out without trying to post for likes etc. 👍
@StuMcK7: This is such a low-life thing to do. Why can some people not be happy for others who work hard to deserve nice things? I hope it gets sorted out, Jeff.
@notnowcato07: Loads of replies from trolls taking the piss. Would like to see how they would react if it were their car.
@unsynq: Absolutely disgusting Jeff. I hope whoever did this is caught and taught a valuable lesson.
@JohnWumz: In a strange area on the door that. Maybe someone trying to steal it? JLR one of the most stolen car brands. Neighbours Velar insurance has shot up.
@tonycoxartist: Some complete tools idea of fun – destroy/damage something someone has worked hard for!!!
@runmcleod: Shocking 🤬 Thieves cut ranger rover’s body open to access wiring to disable the alarm and open the doors to steal it. Can’t have anything of value these days 😤😤
@LeeNattrass: Country’s rotten Jeff, people have no problem with causing damage to something these days, usually because of a victim mentality because they can’t afford it themselves.
