How to pause your Sky Sports TV subscription during coronavirus crisis

How to pause your Sky Sports TV subscription during coronavirus crisis? We take a look at how you can save your money and it takes just 30 seconds!

With many people off work for the meantime, they may be wondering why they are paying for the subscription when only re-runs and old Premier League and EFL events are being shown.

Well with a lack of live action currently on their channels, Sky are allowing customers to pause their Sky Sports subscription.

Due to this, Sky are allowing customers to pause their subscription without any cost as your next bill will show £0 for the sports package – while you will still need to pay for the rest of your bundle.

And even better, you can still watch all of the 11 Sky Sports channels after pausing it, so enjoy all the sporting replays.

To do this, you can call 0800 151 2747, say “cancel Sky Sports” and it will ask if you wish to pause your Sky Sports subscription.

Alternatively, you can visit Sky’s website and follow the instructions.

But this option is only for Sky customers with Virgin Media currently not giving their subscribers the option to pause.

How much does a Sky Sports subscription cost?

If you are looking for when the action returns, Sky are currently offering an 18-month contract of all Sky Sports channels for £23 a month. Virgin Media customers can add Sky Sports for £31.75 a month.

There have been fans wanting a refund from Sky Sports and BT Sport. The broadcasters have refused according to Mirror Money.

“We recognise that it is a fast-moving situation and we are working at speed to ensure we continue to deliver for all of our customers.

“A number of sporting events have been postponed, but not cancelled, so we expect to be able to show these when they are rescheduled.

“Therefore, our live schedule is likely to look different for a period of time. As more information becomes available, we will continue to provide updates to all of our customers.”

A BT spokesman said: “We apologise to customers about the changes to the BT Sport schedule this month due to the impact of Covid-19.

“The situation is evolving rapidly and we are working with the leagues to continue to broadcast live sport wherever possible and broadcast games when they are rescheduled over the coming months.

“We will continue to broadcast a wide range of BT Sport content including films and documentaries and we will update our customers as we have a clearer view of the remainder of the season.”

“BT is now working closely with Public Health England to undertake a full deep clean of relevant parts of its group headquarters and will ensure those employees who have had contact with Philip are appropriately advised.”
