A number of Premier League, EFL, non league and SPFL fixtures have been postponed with the rise in Covid cases and snowfall.
Nine games are off in the English Football League, whilst majority of non league have been prevented from going ahead, and adverse weather conditions heavily effecting the SPFL with six games postponed.
Fulham’s Premier League match with Burnley on Sunday has been postponed after further positive COVID-19 tests at the club, taking the total to around nine according to journalists.
Shrewsbury’s League One fixture with Crewe Alexandra on Saturday has been called off after a second player tested positive for Covid-19.
Shrewsbury are due to face Premier League Southampton in the third round of the FA Cup next Saturday.
A statement read: “Shrewsbury Town Football Club can confirm a second unnamed Salop player has tested positive for Covid-19.
“The health and safety of all staff members at Shrewsbury Town Football Club remains paramount and the club continually takes all necessary steps to protect all where possible. Therefore, Salop has informed the EFL that the club is unable to fulfil our Sky Bet League One fixture with Crewe Alexandra this Saturday.”
Fleetwood’s next two games in League One – against Ipswich on January 4 and Sunderland on January 9 – have been suspended following several positive coronavirus tests.
The club has advised the EFL that it is unable to fulfil the fixtures after the positive tests and because of the requirement for players and staff to self-isolate as per EFL and government guidance in order to mitigate against the risk of further infection.
The circumstances surrounding the postponement will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL Regulations.
Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game between Barrow and Exeter City has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at The Progression Solicitors Stadium.
Accrington’s game against Portsmouth was postponed on New Year’s Day due to a frozen pitch and a drop in temperature expected to remain.

Bristol City’s Championship game away to Brentford, scheduled for Saturday, has been called off due to a number of City players developing coronavirus symptoms.
The club have not been able to arrange tests today due to their testing lab being closed for the Bank Holiday.
Therefore, following discussions with Brentford and the EFL, the decision has been taken to postpone the game for the safety of players and staff of both clubs.
Luton's game with Queens Park Rangers also called off with the Hatters unable to fulfill the fixture following several positive tests meaning players have to self isolate.
Harrogate Town's game against Cheltenham has also been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Wigan's trip to Swindon has been called off due to a frozen pitch. An inspection took place at 11am, with the pitch deemed unplayable by officials.
