Grays Athletic have set up a GoFundMe page as they continue to push for a return back home for the first time since 2010.
Their supporters are raising funds so that they can produce posters, flyers, stickers and more to raise awareness of the club’s #BringGraysHome campaign.
The Isthmian League North Division side are said to be in talks with Thurrock Council “that could deliver the clubs ambitions to return to Grays”.
Currently, they are playing their football at Aveley’s Parkside but in the past have ground-shared with East Thurrock United and the Rush Green Stadium.

Jeff Pedley, who partly organised the campaign, stated on the GoFundMe page: “Grays Athletic was founded in 1890 and has a proud footballing history. In 2010 their football ground was sold off and they have found themselves without a home for the last eight years.
“Uncertainty grows, year after year, as devoted fans and volunteers try to secure a permanent home.
“Their home stadium used to be a hub of the community. Even without a stadium, the club has continued to field a strong set of teams. With over 500 players registered on their books ranging from youth teams to girls teams, walking football to the senior side, it’s time they were given the opportunity to exist within the town they represent.
“Therefore, this is a call to arms. To people within Thurrock and Grays itself, the time is right to push for a stadium that benefits all the region, giving pride back to Thurrock. To players and fans, this is your club and you deserve to have a permanent home, living without uncertainty. To local businesses and Thurrock Council, this area is progressing at a amazing pace, please support us in moving the town football.
“And finally, to all within the wider football community who understand the power of football. Please help us in anyway you can, donate, post, tweet, retweet #BringGraysAthHome. Wear you own team shirt with pride- but hold up our hashtag, we really need your help. We would love to be able to host you one day in our new stadium.
“Needless to say, a campaign of this nature needs funds to help promote and raise awareness. We are all volunteers and are happy to give up hour after hour, but promotion materials are needed: leaflets, posters, banners, stickers, adverts etc. Already, loyal fans have donated hundreds to get initial banners printed to begin to promote the campaign, but so much more is needed.
“Please support in any way you can and hopefully we can #BringGraysAthHome.”

The club have since received a great amount of support towards their new stadium campaign on social media with some supporters of other clubs and different countries spreading awareness by taking a photo of themselves with or speaking of the hashtag – take a look at what they had to say on the next page.
