Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan has told a fan to “go to hell” on Twitter after his side’s 2-1 loss at Burnley.
The Cottagers scored just two minutes into the first half thanks to a stunner from Andre Schurrle before two own goals from Claudio Ranieri’s side in three minutes saw the Clarets claim victory, without registering a single shot on target, the first time it’s happened since 2003.
A story that is going viral however has moved from the defeat and onto the vice-chairman’s comments made to 19-year-old Fulham fan Sam Pimm.
Tony Khan tweeted his thanks to all the supporters including those who made the trip. He went on to say, in consecutive posts: “To squad, staff + supporters, some people are waving the white flag and saying we should surrender, people said the same when we were 6 & 4 points behind the past 2 seasons; we closed the gap both times. Our squad has great moments, but they’ve shown their abilities more often than they’ve gotten the points we need. But we can close this gap. As with last January we’ll make multiple signings to improve the squad, but it’s on our players now to fight, finish & win. Come on Fulham!”
Sam Pimm, frustrated about the result, vented his anger and replied to Shahid Khan’s son: “Leave my club please.”
The fan probably wasn’t expecting an answer back, but Khan responded and wrote: “Never. I’ll die at this club. Go to hell.”

Khan explained that the fan had targeted him on multiple previous occasions, telling another fan: “Not sure you know the context. I feel [the fan] + others in his family criticise when things are down & give no credit when things go well, including giving me stick immediately after promotion.”
Responding to the Associated Press’s coverage of the exchange, he said: “This wasn’t my first twitter interaction with this fan. When times are down, he’s on me, but even less than two weeks after promotion he complained at me. Thanks to our fans that stand by the club. Come on Fulham.”
Football fans took to criticise Tony Khan for telling the fan to “go to hell” after the Burnley defeat, there were however some support for him – take a look at how social media users have reacted to it all on the next page.
