Daniel Farke speaks on Willy Gnonto refusing to play for the team and and spotted ‘on the ale’ out in Harrogate as Leeds lose to Birmingham.
The 19 year old was spotted on Saturday afternoon, reportedly out drinking as his fellow teammates were taking part in the Championship fixture, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.
Twitter user StuW1989 wrote that the Italian was “on the ale”, with fans having a say on his antics throughout the day with the club issuing a statement.
@StuW1989: “Weekend away in Harrogate and only bumped into Everton new signing. Big smile on this face when I asked him about Everton!! #Gnonto”

CLUB STATEMENT:
Earlier this week, Willy Gnonto and his representatives were informed by the club that he would not be sold this summer.
Following those conversations, Willy felt he was unable to play in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town.
Despite training for the last two days, Willy has informed Daniel Farke that he still does not feel able to play this weekend and has not travelled to Birmingham for the game tomorrow.
This is now an internal disciplinary matter and the club will make no further comment, other than to reiterate that Willy Gnonto is not for sale.
After Leeds had relegation from the Premier League confirmed, the club had a number of release clauses come into effect, including clauses for loans with the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Robin Koch departing, while Gnonto like other first team players, having no loan or permanent release clause in his deal.
The Italian has now refused to play any part of the matches, and but him out in Harrogate whilst drinking, on a matchday has come as a big surprise to fans.
LastWordOnSports said: “Not only is the wonderkid desperate for a move, but this is actively harming his fitness levels. Athletes at that level have strict diet and nutrition plans, with the tricky forward drinking being another act of rebellion against his employer.”
Daniel Farke has reportedly told those who no longer want to play for Leeds United to stay away from the dressing room, as the Mail on Sunday reports as much as four first-team players could leave before the end of the transfer window.
Luis Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto had been two notable omissions from the squad for their 1-0 defeat at Birmingham on Saturday, with the latter making himself unavailable for the squad due to claims he is wanted by Everton.
“This club is much bigger than any individual player” 👀

Meanwhile, Tyler Adams and Jack Harrison also missed out through injury, though the newspaper claimed on Sunday that they are still being looked at by Premier League clubs ahead of the transfer window closing on the 1st of September.
Speaking after the game, Farke said: “It’s quite normal that transfer speculation affects other players. They are not living on the moon and these situations don’t make life easy for the group.
“I want a group fully focused and committed. This club is bigger than any player or manager or board member. I’m not begging anyone ‘Please play for us’. The club too big.
“If a player doesn’t want to be with us then they can train alone and use their own dressing room. I need players who are fully committed to defend the shirt.”
Leeds had just 7 players on the bench, including 2 goalkeepers, and Farke says he left others behind due to their attitude.
He added: ‘I have to feel you are fully committed. If I’m not happy with the training performance of a player I don’t pick him for the squad. I’d rather travel with three goalkeepers. I need to see commitment.
‘This situation is what I expected. Relegation is never easy. There is a hangover, players are used to disappointing results. We knew the start would be bumpy and tricky and it’s not the easiest job at the moment – but if it was easy, it wouldn’t be so much fun to turn it around.
‘We need a bit more experience and quality but I don’t complain. When I signed, I knew what the task would be.’

This is what fans are saying as Farke speaks on Gnonto refusing to play and spotted ‘on the ale’ in Harrogate as Leeds lose…
@PhilbergLUFC: Hes yours if you cough up the dosh… do you have it tho?
@dave_grayson: Bet he asks for a relegation clause in his contract
@LUFC_TVmemes: This is a genuine question Stu; why would you want to sign a player that evidently has attitude issues and will refuse to play for your club if you get relegated? Doesn’t the situation with him at Leeds show his selfish nature? Why would you want that at your club?
@LUFC_Ando: Everton .. make me laugh on so many fronts and despite our issues thankful – they ain’t going to pay the money for Willy so dream on, he can keep training on his own until we decide otherwise
@wayneleedsfan: Why would you even want him when he’ll do the exact same thing to you in 12 months time? Just desperate for a signing you can’t afford.
@cmdlufc: I would of picked him up and put him back in his pram the prick.
@NazLUFC: Got some serious balls if he’s out in public!
@MissVJFxx: Set up a Gofundme to get his transfer funds and you can have him. Because we don’t
@ajm1991_: Gonna be beautiful when Everton get relegated this season then 🤗
@Toneball29: I hope someone sees Gnonto in Harrogate, squares straight up to him, and tell him he’s not actually very good at football #lufc
@ROBLUFC1984: Should’ve been asking him why he was being a prick and refusing to play
Seen on Facebook Gnonto walking round Harrogate. Brass balls of him the prick #lufc pic.twitter.com/VfCs2cvW6F
